Playing on One X and finding it difficult to see people at times. I've turned off most of the fancy stuff in the setting menu and reduced things like motion blur etc... to nearly 0 values but still it seems a bit difficult.

Is everyone finding that or is it just that I'm so used to BF1 and enemies standing out more that makes things seem harder now?

I am liking the lack of spotting, but at the same time, I seem to be easily spottable by the enemy and maybe it's just perception but they seem to have an easier time of seeing me than I do of seeing them (and no, I didn't choose that blue uniform option :P )

One other thing I've found, I have only used the Assault class so far in the few games I played, but the first two gun unlocks are rather underwhelming. What's worse is the sight option are terrible. I used to love the BF1 options that were simple but had the choice of magnification. I'm a 1.5x kinda guy and the 2x semi-scope zoom is killing my accuracy and reaction time. Hopefully some sights open up that aren't either clunky looking (Reflex!) or zoom overkill and FOV/screen real estate blocking. :(

    Strange issue.
I keep getting the error below.

"Connection to EA Online timed out. Your network bandwidth and/or network latency may not meet the requirements for this game"

Im on a 360mb Virgin connection cat 5 to the router. Pings of 15-30 to most EU servers.

Cant figure it out. Anyone got any ideas?

I'm on a 4790k and 1070 and have had to feck about with config files to get it to run right. Felt like I was running through treacle until i loaded up the user.config.

Getting fairly tired of being nailed pretty much instantly by a bomber as soon as you spawn at the start of a game.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,934 ✭✭✭ewj1978

Yep. They need to change that. I understand they brought it in to allow planes to get into the action but especially on Hamada? i spawn and Bam! dead.
One lad the other night killed 8 in a bombing run at spawn.

Needs about an extra 30 second delay on planes spawning at the start of a round.

Just played my first proper game, on devastation. Needed to whack the brightness and hdr brightness up full to actually be able to see anyone.

Make sure to turn off film grain as it leaves a weird fuzz on the screen. Turn off the one above it too can’t remember the name but it does the lens effect.

I’ve walked HDR brightness right up then put the TV in a neutral setting. Most TVs with a game setting use a warm or expert setting that washes out the color.

Been really on the fence on this but over the weekend thanks to cheap wine and a credit card bought it not only for myself but got a copy for my brother. Knew I was in trouble when I saw a youtuber flying a Stuka.

Just using the EA access trial see if I like it. From what I saw from streams and videos a lot of the mechanics have changed. Hate that you can rebuild and the revive mechanics look like that you will never get a revive from randoms (being that your still alive and able to get spotted by the enemy when asking for help) probably more realistic and can be used more tactically, dunno.... Looks a lot like BF4 (looks more modern than ww2 shooter) the guns/vehicles look like they should be in a more modern era also. If I wanted to build I'd play Fortnight and I don't like fortnight. Dunno think DICE took it one step too far but it remains to be seen, see if the 10 hour trial will change my opinion.

Hmm first game there what have they done to the spotting? Can't spam click no more. Very hard to tell who is enemy also. Game looks awful on xbox.

Reviving someone or being revived will randomly pick up a weapon after you are revived or do the reviving. There is way too much glare on the maps, can barely see the objectives. But the guns are pretty nice. Spotting is completely rear ended it will spot their last position. Very limited selection on maps and way too many snow maps imo. The revive mechanics are a little better than expected though, Sometimes the revive icon will block players in front of you which is very annoying. Seeing far too many squad mates shooting each other so its not just me that finds it hard to see who the enemy is.

Best price for Xbox One is Argos, provided you bought Red Dead there and still have the e5 off(though you might get one today which kinda makes it cheaper than Smyths either way).

    E56.99.

Strangely enough the PS4 and PC versions are e68.99.

Can't understand why they're so different.

pc version is €43.29 on cdkeys xbox €54.68 deluxe/standard (€49.59 for the standard with Beta license)

It's quite easy to see your teammates, they all have blue markers above their heads (green for squadmates)... It's actually seeing the enemy against the terrain that can be a problem at times! But I have found it easier playing on the regular Xbox rather than the One X, oddly. I think the HDR might be playing a part there so will need to fiddle with some settings.

First thing you need to do if you want to be competitive in BF is turn off a lot of the fancy graphical settings in the video menu including motion blur etc... It might not look as pretty but it helps a lot, also raising your stick sensitivity up by quite a chunk is something you should do and just get used to as soon as possible.

The spotting being changed is great, spam click was awful in BF1. That's all anyone did really. Run around pressing RB on everything in between trying to shoot people.

Good shout. If buying on Xbox, i don't know why anyone wouldn't have bought it from CDKeys, they've had the best price of pretty much anywhere for a few weeks now. Also these games die in value for trade-in so they're not worth having on disc anyway.

What fancy graphics are you talking about? I have motion blur off alright not sure what the rest do? How does this new spotting system work?
Cause they went and fixed something that wasn't broken. The Specialist perks they added in BF1 were well enough to balance spamming spot, which everyone is truly guilty of using so it was already balanced when you think about it. If I knew someone got the drop on me I'd spot that person rather than shoot first. Games are just full of campers now that there is no way to spot the enemy. I think games of conquest are geared towards defence now rather than cap and run with no easy way to spot there is no way to tell where the majority of the enemy is.

That Aerodrome map is pretty good that middle hanger has epic battles!

There are some other graphic settings on consoles like film grain that you can turn off.

Disagree with you on the spotting, the game is far better without it. You can actually flank properly now without a big " Hey everybody, I'm over here" on your head.

It's taken me awhile to stop spamming L1, didn't realise how dependant we were on it.

It's also more realistic now that you can't see someone through a hedge or through smoke and you have to use foot steps, gun fire and muzzle flash to locate enemies.

I've haven't even noticed many campers, just the normal recons doing their thing, but there always has been and always will be some campers.

You need to go to spec savers?..
On Ps4pro with 1080p and have no problems picking out enemies..even at great distance..
Switch off film grain etc...also along with the others, 4 or 5 in a group..all to off..
IMO the game play is excellent as it is.. just a tweak to balancing is all..and of course all the bugs..big patch coming very soon..
Thank goodness the noob 3d spotting is mostly gone bar recon spotting and spotting by plane..
Gun firing is mostly realistic with more spray at standing position and mostly on target in prone...
    Git gud!!!

You can put a marker on the location where the enemy is at which your squad mates can see..
