Just for the record. Rung the emergency fault number about 5 minutes ago.

Junction box at the intersection of Oak Dene and Ballinclea Heights, up on a street pole, alongside the perimeter wall of the convent has just exploded rather dramatically.

Blue and white flashes followed by blobs of orange goop. The power line is hanging low.

    Hi Amalgam,

    Thanks for getting in touch.

Safety and power outage queries should be directed to ESB Networks, as they would look into this regardless of supplier.

For further updates, please call 1850 372 999, or they have a power check app available to view here.

We hope this helps. Should you have any other questions, please let us know.

    Thanks,
    Brige

Cheers. I was under the (wrong) impression that Electric Ireland were ESB, my mistake.

    Different bodies.

    Hi Amalgam,

    Thanks for your message.

Well, you're not far off... Electric Ireland and ESB Networks are both part of the ESB Group - they just provide separate services. :)

    Kind regards,
    Una
