Ye have the ball rolling on appointments girls, it’s exciting when dates start rolling in!

I’m a bit laid back this time, I’m not sure if I have to go to the GP but I’ll book in an early scan for a week or two. I can self refer to Holles Street online which is handy.

I survived dinner out wearing actual jeans and not legggings. The bloat is unreal!! Hope everyone is feeling good :)

My bloating has eased a bit thankfully so my jeans are feeling a bit more comfy apart from one new pair I bought a few weeks ago, there is no give in the waistband so they dig in a bit so I did the old bobble trick and they were fine!!

Just back from a lovely meal out with our friends and as soon as I finished eating the nausea hit me. That’s a new one for me now at night after I eat, for the last couple of weeks it’s been mornings before I eat! Had to go home and go to bed!! Lucky the hubby is fine with that so at least I’m not the only one in bed at 11 on a Saturday night lol

    Hi everyone.
Baby number 2 due 29th of November 😊
Very very happy and relieved. It's taken us the guts of a year to conceive. This will be number 2 for us.
Anyone know if there is a facebook group yet??
I found them so helpful on my last pregnancy.
Hope everyone is doing well so far!

I’m lucky if I see 8pm these days, usually we get the kids to bed and then I’m in my pjs. Luckily my husband is more than happy to have the TV to himself, might be a result of being surrounded by girls all day!

    Hey everyone X

Tiredness is killing me here I'm not able for anything , we went away the weekend and all I wanted to do was sleep X

Anf as for the nausea no comment I'm over it already xx hoping to get to the Dr this week at some stage X

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 31 Jutton

Thankfully my nausea is not too bad, but I am constantly falling asleep on couch.
We headed away last weekend and on d last night I hit d sack by 8pm, was heaven.
My OH silently gets annoyed by me missing d whole film/TV programme :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,102 ✭✭✭Digs

I wouldn’t mind if I could sleep properly either, my dreams are mental!!

Sorry to hear your nausea is bad Betsie. I wouldn’t rate mine as bad yet, it’s just constant low lying bleeeeh.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,954 ✭✭✭Betsie_xr3i

Ah look hopefully the feeling will go soon just hate it X took a half day today I'm not sleeping great at night waking maybe 7/8times to pee or just wake for no reason,

Hey Susie!! I love that idea, I was looking for the eumoms November birth group but it looks like they don’t have it set up yet!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,102 ✭✭✭Digs

Sorry Susie missed your post the other day! I’m brutal with facebook but happy to join a group if ones going.

Bestie, hope the feeling passes soon. I constantly feel like I’ve jusy stepped off a merry go round.
Picked up some seven seas pre natals yesterday, pregnacare gave me headaches with the other two so hoping these do the trick!

Someone set one up in the November forum, just had to PM her email address etc

I’d assume maybe it’s the same for other months if you check the threads!

They’re all secret groups, for obvious reasons, so you can’t search for them

Sign up to rollercoaster.ie, go to the pregnancy board for your relevant month, and there’s usually a thread there about a Facebook group. You can then just PM your email address to whoever set the group up and they’ll add you.

There are two October groups because one was high-drama, so lots of people left and joined the more chilled-out one :)

Going to add myself to the list here, 5 weeks gone, due end of November. First pregnancy and after almost 2 years of trying I'm finding it very hard to believe at the moment.

Ah wow, that’s awesome, huge congrats! It’s a surreal feeling anyway but I’m sure your head is spinning. All very normal!

Pergnacare vitamins rant!! It takes all my will power to get those green things down, usually accompanied by the gag reflex kicking in. The yellow ones seem to make me burp and repeat on me all day! Argh!
New approach is taking them before bed! Will see how this works!
Also the iron tablets wrecked havoc on my toilet visits and instead of spending half the day waiting for the magic to happen I have reduced taking those bad boys to once every two days!

    #stufftheydonttellyou!

Rant over. Back to sunshine and butterflies :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,102 ✭✭✭Digs

I took pregnacare for my first two pregnancies and hated them! They always gave me awful headaches and made my sickness worse.
My pharmacist recommended seven seas this time round and I haven’t had one problem with them!! Plus they’re over half the price of pregnacare. Worth checking out.

Currently feeling extremely sick and hungover and haven’t had a drink in weeks..... first trimester joy!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,091 ✭✭✭catrionanic

There have been several studies that showed no real benefit to the pregnancy multi vitamins, so don’t stress if it’s not working out for you. I’m just taking folic acid.

Also, have you been advised to take iron by your doctor? Because if not, it’s not advised in early pregnancy.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,954 ✭✭✭Betsie_xr3i

Just folic acid here thankfully my iron levels have never been an issue hopefully it will be the same this time round

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 281 ✭✭cowlove

Just taking folic acid here too. Don't think I took anything else in my last pregnancy.

I took iron supplements in my last pregnancy too and played havoc with going to the loo (sorry tmi) hoping I won't have to take them this time but I can see my iron being low.

How is everyone doing? The tiredness is killing me, I'd love a day on the couch watching ****ty tv,

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,102 ✭✭✭Digs

Exhausted here too, doesn’t help my youngest who’s usually a great sleeper is up all hours of the night the last week. I’ve completely gone off coffee too which is annoying.

Does anyone have a metallic taste in their mouth? I didn’t with my last two but can’t get rid of it, driving me mad.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,954 ✭✭✭Betsie_xr3i

Gone off coffee here too and I love my coffee,

Never got that taste in my mouth on any of mine but I have heard of others that have don't know much about it though sorry digs x

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 64 ✭✭Verity.

I had that metallic taste with two of mine Digs. It's not pleasant but it did go away after a while. Hopefully yours will pass too :)

I'd an early scan today at 8+3, as I'd two previous mc's. They've moved me ahead to 8wks+6 based on growth. Was such a relief to see baby was growing nicely and see the little heart flickering away :)

Hope you're all feeling well ladies. So who is going to find out gender when they can? I'm itching to know. This is my fourth and I've always wanted to know. It helps me to bond with baby.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,102 ✭✭✭Digs

Oh interesting Verity! Was it a particular sex you had the metallic taste with or a mix? I’m a sucker for old wives tales, they’re a bit of fun.

Not sure re finding out, we have two girls and ever since the second was born people seem to be convinced we’re dying to have a boy which is annoying but we’d be happy with either (although truth be told I’m sure my husband would be happy to even the sides up a bit!). It would make things easier if I knew so I could figure out what stuff I can keep/get rid of!

Still waiting to hear from Holles Street about booking appointment!

Now that you mention it, it was just my boys I think. Don't remember having it our little girl. I like the old wives tales too, helps pass the time lol.. have you tried the baking soda test yet? :)

Oh I hate the assumption you are gender disappointed! We thought our third was going to be a boy as well (wrong results on blood test). When people found out they were all 'oh never mind.. maybe next time'. Ugh this made me crazy!

No letter yet? How far along are you now Digs?

Oh I wish I had your will power, but the curiousity would kill me :D

Probably our last as well. I wish I could enjoy pregnancy, but it frustrates me not being able to do certain things. I'll undoubtedly have GD for this one too, so that will me back on insulins and metaformin. I have to take blood thinners too. I get fed up with it all.

How's your symptoms ladies? I have bad fatigue and constipation, no nausea really.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,954 ✭✭✭Betsie_xr3i

Tired beyond belief here and nausea sore boobs, aversion to coleslaw the only thing that makes it bearable to eat a salad and I can't look at it, smell it or eat it :-(:-(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,102 ✭✭✭Digs

I’m only 7.5 weeks so just being impatient, I registered online about 2 weeks ago with Holles Street. Interesting about the metallic taste! I wonder if this is a blue one!!

I’m exhausted, nauseous, I have very achy joints in the evening but I think that’s just fatigue! Boobs are sore too.
    Hope everyone else is good!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,954 ✭✭✭Betsie_xr3i

I finally have a day off on Wednesday so I can do all my registration and get my booking bloods done etc can't wait to get the ball rolling now xx

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 281 ✭✭cowlove

I was so sick over the weekend. Felt crap even after a good night's sleep. I was 8 weeks on Friday. Still no letter from the hospital. I posted it about 2 weeks ago now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,102 ✭✭✭Digs

I’ve deifnitely noticed a huge shift in how bad I’m feeling since 7 weeks. The sickness is relentless. I’m going to have to give in and book in with my GP to do the combined care form and see if she can advise on the sickness.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,954 ✭✭✭Betsie_xr3i

Are you getting sick dogs or just nausea???

It sucks feeling like crap and having to pretend to the world that your feeling ok xx

We to go for my booking bloods this morning I walked into my dear and I walked straight back out there wasn't even standing room there it was so busy, I'll head back in awhile and see is it any better

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,102 ✭✭✭Digs

Not puking much Betsie! Generally just the morning which is just bile but the nausea is non stop, I’m waking a lot at night and have to get up because I feel so sick. It’s very frustrating, it really does affect your mood when you constantly feel so crappy. I was lying in bed last night and heard my 4yr old ask my husband why Mammy is always so sick and tired and that she’s worried which is awful for a 4yr old to be asking!! I’ll seriously have to try hide it better.

I hope the lines for bloods move fast!! Exciting you’re at the booking stage, I’m only 8 weeks tomorrow, have a scan next week to properly date it though.

Digs I am near the end of my third pregnancy here, found the first trimester desperately hard this time.I was so unwell, and my diet really had to radically adjust. It's not bad, but I had to eat really little and often, cut out so much stuff. I never puked (I was afraid to let myself puke because I thought I wouldnt stop if I started!!!) but it was a close call several times.Constant, heavy, disgusting nausea, all day and night.Awful. We have two girls, it was so different I am assuming this is a boy!!!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,102 ✭✭✭Digs

Shesty it’s funny you say that! We have two girls aswell and I feel like this first trimester is absolutely walloping me by comparison to their pregnancies. I’ll be so interested to see what you have!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,954 ✭✭✭Betsie_xr3i

My 1st 2 were girls and the pregnancies were identical everything was the same the only difference was my 1st was 10days late and my 2nd was 5days early my 3preganancy was different so I kinda knew it was going to be a boy in my head anyway but this one has thrown me I feel awful all the time I have a complete aversion to food the only thing I want to eat is bread

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,102 ✭✭✭Digs

I would have said that too about my first two, pregnancies were mirror images of each other, down to them both being two weeks late. I wouldn’t mind another girl one bit, however naming a third might kill us, we find girls names so tough!!

I’m the same with food, cannot stomach anything. I have this thing in my head that McDonalds chips will make me feel better so my husband said he’d get some tonight, hopefully I can actually stomach them and the illusion isn’t ruined.

  • Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators, Social & Fun Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 6,914 Mod ✭✭✭✭shesty

    Haha, same here!
It's starting again with buying clothes if it's a boy, that thought is killing me!!!!!We have bags and bags of girl's stuff.
The other two pregnancies were very similar (not to due dates though!) but this one, in particular the first trimester was very, very different in a few ways.
We know what we're having, but I don't really believe them until they hand it to me :D:D So everything is neutral :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,102 ✭✭✭Digs

Ah Jesus Shesty you have me intrigued now!! I’ll be watching you like a hawk :D

That’s the other thing, I have so many clothes for the girls I could open a shop so another one would be very handy!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,954 ✭✭✭Betsie_xr3i

Misseeable and feeling sorry for myself constant nausea And no appitite but look hopefully it will all pass soon

Only a few more weeks til we know for sure - I hope(as I washed a load of grey and white baby clothes today!!!)

Actually on a more serious note, it's superstition/paranoia on my part, as much as anything else.I've never been able to do much more than get the basic newborn stuff ready....too afraid to get anything else sorted until I actually have the baby in my arms.
