    • Please nominate for the Film That Deserved Better in 2017!
    • Up to 4 nominations per person
    • You can justify your selections if you want, but don't criticise other peoples' selections
    • The movie must have been in Irish Cinemas between April 2017 and March 2018
    • This is just for nominations. Voting will follow in a few weeks!

    Paddington 2!

Totally snubbed for awards but one of the most acclaimed films of all time.

    Wind River.

Can't believe it's up for hardly anything, the setting was brilliant and it held your attention at all times.

A Ghost Story - should have got nom for best cinematography, best editing and best score
Good Time - best screenplay and best score
The Killing of a Sacred Deer - best screenplay and best film

top 3 films of the year for me, no noms at all between them

so sick of the films glorifying big British bully politicians getting automatically nominated, especially when they're all as boring and formulaic as a courtroom or cop drama.

and bladerunner 2049 was garbage how it is winning best cinematography and a ghost story not even nominated is disgusting

    Paddington 2
    Life
Valerian and the City of 1000 Planets (had a lot of flaws, but still deserved an audience IMO)

(I would have given Kong: Skull Island a vote, but seems that came out just before April 2017)

Princess Cyd - unceremonious Netflix release
    Nocturama - unceremonious Netflix release
The Fits - unceremonious Netflix release
Star Wars: The Last Jedi - no film deserves a backlash this vicious, especially a one as good as this

Den of Thieves - A great action flick that should have gotten more love.
Brawl in cell block 99 - Vince Vaughan put a lot into this role and it contains some of the most vicious OTT violence of any movie this year. Should have gotten a more widespread release.
Paddington 2 - One of my favourite films this year and doesn't seem to be getting the awards love it deserves. Hugh Grant seems to be enjoying himself immensely.
