This is the sign up thread for what will be a non-anon game starting with first action of the game on the morning of March 25th.
Places in the game are limited to 20 25 players.
Please sign up by posting in this thread! We (Molly, Necro and myself) are very much looking forward to the game, and hope you are too!
Welcome to Werewolf XXV
A dangerous outbreak of the well-known ‘Hairy Hands Disease’ has been detected on Craggy Island. The island has therefore been quarantined until further notice. All residents should be aware of the dangers of this disease and take all reasonable precautions to avoid infection.
A curfew is in effect and nightly lynchings of suspected infected parishioners will take place at 9pm each night outside the Ormonde Cinema. Everyone is welcome along to the lynching. Spitting, jeering and placards are welcome and indeed expected. Rotten fruit will be available at John and Mary’s shop down the road. There will be a special fun-land put on to amuse the kids. This will include such fan favourites as the Crane of Death, Whirly-go-Round, Spinning Cat and Freak Pointing.
The county council is depending on the islanders to take care of this problem themselves so any instances of excessive hair growth or strange growling should be reported at once.

Goodies:
Seer - Picks their app. seer before first munch (Night 0). Peeks 1 player per cycle (1 day & 1 night) with their seer abilities and learns that players role. Has been immunised from the hairy hand disease and thus cannot be converted.
Apprentice Seer – Selected by the seer. Inherits the role and responsibilities of the Seer on the Seers death. Has been immunised from the hairy hand disease and thus cannot be converted.
Mayor - Elected at lynch time, in office until the following lynch, same person cannot be elected 2 days in a row; can overturn a lynch result; selects the vigilante each day. Injects themselves with a temporary immunisation from the hairy hand disease and thus cannot be converted while in office
Vigilante – Chosen by Mayor after Mayor is elected, given 2 bullets to use during his/her term, holds role until a new mayor is elected, same person cannot be chosen 2 days in a row. Injects themselves with a temporary immunisation from the hairy hand disease and thus cannot be converted whilst in office.
Shaman – Bestowed with power from the Holy Stone of Clonrichert, the shaman receives 3 relics (1 per day starting on day 1) which must be passed on each day to another player by that night's lynch. Has been immunised from the hairy hand disease and thus cannot be converted.
There is also one remaining hidden role, also immune from the hairy hand plague sweeping the isle. Details of this role will not be given out by the mods, except to the player who holds the role. Beyond that, there are no other goodie roles.
Baddies:
There are 4 hairy handed evils at the beginning of the game – Two from Craggy Island, Two from Rugged Island. They will attempt to convert a player to their cause on Night 0 and Night 1, as well as competing on thread for a kill on night 1. Kills will then replace conversions from night 2 onwards until the wolves have won or are completely destroyed.
Patient Zero Craggy Island – The originator of the disease on Craggy Island. Along with their infected counterpart, plot the downfall of the island from their base at St. Clabberts.
Infected 1 - The second victim of the hairy hand disease on Craggy Island. Shares accommodation with Patient Zero in St. Clabberts.
Patient Zero Rugged Island – The originator of the disease on Rugged Island. Along with their infected counterpart, plot the downfall of the island from their base at Rigged Island Parochial House.
Infected 2 - The second victim of the hairy hand disease on Rugged Island. Shares accommodation with Patient Zero in Rugged Island Parochial House.
There are no hidden baddie roles.
Rules:
1) Mods decisions are final, we really care about the game, so please respect that we are impartial and know things you don't so don't question us on thread. Accept & respect our decisions and play on.
2) Don’t cheat, it’s a game that relies heavily on the players having integrity. No PMing other players in the game, don't accuse anyone of cheating, if you think something is up pm a mod. And by ‘up’ we mean an unforeseen advantage that will end the game, abuse of a power, or breakage of the rules that isn’t spotted by a mod immediately. Always play in the best interests of your character, but respect the mods, other players and the game. Winning is good, everyone having fun is better. DONT EDIT YOUR POSTS OR REMOVE THANKS ONCE GIVEN.
3) Please all try to reasonably contribute to the game thread and always remember to get a vote in as a minimum. The mods will, at their own discretion, kill or sub anyone they feel isn't contributing without a second warning, this includes low posting with a reason, even if it is explained to the mods. Even with a RL reason, we have to prioritise the game, so please do not feel hard done by on any modkill or subbing decisions.
4) No posting of any PM's from the game mods or referring to the content or wording of them on thread. If in doubt, ask a mod.
5) Game starts with a munch at 10am on Day 1 (see schedule below). Village lynches will take place at 9pm each night. Speed days can be implemented at any stage, but will most likely start on Thursday or Friday, whereby there will be 2 munches (10am and 4pm) and 2 lynches (1pm and 9pm). This schedule can be revised based on on-thread consensus from remaining players.
6) If you've got any questions send a mod a pm. They will answer if they can. If we can’t, you will get a funny meme instead. IF IN DOUBT REGARDING ANY ASPECT OF THE GAME, YOUR ROLE OR THE RULES, PM A MOD AND WAIT FOR A RESPONSE. DO NOT POST IN THE THREAD ABOUT SAID DOUBTS.
7) Win conditions:
Village win: all non-villagers must be killed.
Wolf Win: The wolves must reach parity with the village AND eliminate the other wolf team.
NOTE: In the unlikely event of a 3 way death to end the game, no-one wins, and Necro has to buy the other 2 game mods an ice cream.
8) Don’t take things personally or talk about your real life, players should stay in character at all times and understand any and all abuse is in character, don't bother telling the other players about your real life issues just play as you can.
9) You get to use your boards account for this game, as well as your normal backroom account, should you have need for a room there. This is a non-anonymous game which are the foundations of the community we have fostered here.
10) Have fun, make memes, take the piss and try to enjoy the game.
11) The mods have some secrets, but all players have been provided with the information they need to play the game. Mods will not enter into discussion on thread about mechanics of the game, we can discuss issues like that after. You can ask anything you want but if we don't answer it means we don't want to answer.
12) LYNCH VOTE: The vote results will be published when the Lynch is announced. In the event of a tie for the lynch vote, all tied players will be up for lynch with a new vote immediately following and to close at 10pm. This vote will be in public on thread in the format VOTE XXXX, the tied players will lose the right to vote at this juncture. in the event of a second tie whoever was voted for first in the tiebreaker round will be lynched. All votes are final no redaction or withdrawal of votes will be allowed and there will always be the option of voting for no lynch.
MAYOR VOTE: Votes for the mayor will take place on a google form (link tbc). The vote results will be published when the Lynch is announced. In the event of a tie, the earliest vote between the tied candidates will determine the mayor. Mayoral votes are required, just like lynch votes are.
13) People are free to post in the thread until the lynch and slaughter are announced. You are not dead until a post in the game thread announces it. Don’t post on thread or like posts or do anything in the live thread if you are dead. This includes thanking of posts by dead players.
14) The characters role and character name will be revealed on thread upon the announcement of a lynching or munching.
If you do not fully feel comfortable with these rules, do not post on thread about this (outside of the discussion period leading up to the posting of the game thread). PM a mod or use your backroom, if you have access to one in your introduction PM message.
