Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Spurs-vs-Juve-matchplug-soccer-predictions-betting-tips-500x315.jpg

After pretty poor fare last night in the Champions League, let's hope for better action tonight. This game promises to be a great clash with the game nicely poised at 2-2 after the first leg.

    The teams are in:
Tottenham XI: Lloris; Trippier, Sanchez, Vertonghen, Davies; Dier, Dembele; Son, Alli, Eriksen; Kane.

Juventus XI: Buffon; Barzagli, Benatia, Chiellini, Alex Sandro; Khedira, Pjanic, Matuidi; Douglas Costa, Higuain, Dybala.

I think Dybala back in is a big plus for Juve and Matuidi who was absent for the first leg should give Dembele more of a challenge. They've more experience than Spurs in this type of situation too which could prove significant. Spurs's attacking players are in good form though so I give them a decent chance.

I'll get off the fence though and say Juve to win by a goal. What way do you see it going?

I think this'll be a very tight game, with Spurs just about coming out on top. Juve will be better than last time, with some of their first 11 back, but hopefully home advantage helps us.

Quietly confident, but god damn nervous.

One good thing for Spurs is their bench looks very strong. I would prefer it to Juve's.

Think this is the biggest test that this Spurs team has faced. Really interested to see if they can live up to the expectations.

    Wow Kane destroyed Chiellini there.

Spurs pissing through them so far. Can’t believe juve have basically left their slowest player Barzagli left one on one with Spurs fastest player Son.

Absolutely clear as day that was a penalty, both on first viewing, and on replays. Just really obvious, shocking reffing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,179 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

Horrendous (non)decision. That was a stonewall penalty in any language.

How come he didn't get a penalty for diving? This is the Champion's League.

Shocking decision. Ref, linesman, and muppet behind goal saw it and would not step in to over rule ref. Why is he there if he's a muppet.

What a ridiculously bad decision that is. That extra official is a disgrace.

What does that extra official actually do!?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,159 ✭✭✭Cypher_sounds

Evens it out a bit. Spurs certainly should have had at least one peno as their was two separate handballs.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,384 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

Penalty gods have been very kind to Spurs this season for sure.

Turns up to collect a wage.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,150 ✭✭✭✭LuckyGent88

Well if it wasn’t a penalty, why didn’t he book him for a blatant dive?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,247 ✭✭✭✭Guy:Incognito

Anything to be said for a bit of VAR?

Should have been a penalty, but so should the handball at the start (not the Cheillini one). Juve defender moved his hand towards the ball and definitely made contact.

Ball boy perhaps. Honestly he should be investigated heavily for not spotting that

Evens it out a bit. Spurs certainly should have had at least one peno as their was two separate handballs.

    Neither were penos.

First was a foul by the Spurs forward. Second was completely accidental and didn’t impede Kane at all.

Why wasn't Costa booked for that dive? Bloody foreigners. :D

Both those officials should never be involved in a top level game again, that's quite unbelievable from them both

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,023 ✭✭✭✭~Rebel~

Could see Vertonghen's yellow proving troublesome later in the game.

Could be wrong, but I seem to recall there being some sort of "speak only when spoken to" rule with those lads, that they're there to be consulted, but not to offer information unprompted. That sounds insane, and might not be the case, but it sounds familiar to me. And somewhat makes sense of their continuous inactivity.

For some reason I'm always surprised at the quality names juventus have. They seem to have a knack for signing a top freebie or last year of contract type player. That said the side effect of such recruitment is a relatively old squad, still that experience serves them well in Europe.

That second bit there was dodgy
