Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Trippier dive there

That kick out as Son was pathetic. As was Alex Sandro's yellow card. Your man threw himself to the floor!

Trippier reenacting Platoon there. Gets Sandro booked.

Buffon will never make it as a keeper

A mess at the end but Buffon's decline is sad to see. He was awful in the first leg and has been so awkward looking tonight, reminds me of a keeper in a women's match.

Son is some player in fairness. Spurs best player over the past few weeks.

    Juve fell apart there.

Buffoon dived to the ground in a gamble to react fast to a player who was not shooting, it then ran through to Son who did shoot into an empty goal.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,414 ✭✭✭Toobz

    Delighted for them, and Barzagli!

Why isn't sczesny (sp?) In goal for Juve??? He's been immense for them this season. Buffon anything but.

Spurs getting all the luck so far

Another amazing yellow due to an Alli dive. Can they sub this ref at half time?

Sad to see Buffon carry on like this. Should have gone after quitting international football.

He went to kick the ball and kicked him in the shin, it was a clear foul and a yellow.

It’s been said to death but Dembele is an absolute colossus in that Spurs midfield. I’ve never seen a player brush off so many tackles with such ease and his dribbling is of the highest standard too.

He missed the ball, swung wild, made absolutely no contact with Alli who swan dived.

If he had made contact with that swing, Alli would still be down.

Impressive half for Spurs although they were blessed not to concede a pen. A lot of power and strength and clearly playing for their coach. Like the total opposite of PSG last night. Juventus struggling to create anything. Can't recall Lloris having to do anything of note. With the exception of Costa, their attacking play has been disappointing.

Pretty much as good as we could hope for so far.
Juve really have to go for it now, so it should leave more room for the counter.

It's deli alli, so regardless of how much of a foul it is, he's a cheating bollox apparently.

Another trippier assist showed great composure there.

He did make contact. Watch the replay again. Just because it's Alli doesn't mean it's a dive, even if some people seem to think so

Watch it again if you must. At best there is a slight contact from the side of the Juve player’s boot.

You’re defending Alli, the biggest diver in the premiership?!? Ok then, that says it all

Disagree with Duff - not all penalties for Spurs. Perhaps the last one.

You’re right, on second viewing there was the slightest glancing contact. Not enough for the Swan dive which got the player booked.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,384 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

The Duffer thinks Spurs should have had 3 penalties lol.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,695 ✭✭✭✭osarusan

Duff on the first Spurs claim for handball: "It's not deliberate, but it's bad defending, and you have to punish it. Penalty."

How can people so experienced and invested in the sport get stuff so wrong?

I'm defending the fact that this was a foul. Deli was kicked and he went down. Foul. Doesn't matter if he's known as a diver, it's still a foul.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,159 ✭✭✭Cypher_sounds

    Neither were penos.

First was a foul by the Spurs forward. Second was completely accidental and didn’t impede Kane at all.

Why did spurs get a free kick a few minutes later around midfield for an accidental handball then?

It did impede Kane. It moved the ball a different direction.

Also, Juve should have had a peno, and spurs should have had one imo (the first handball).

Well they need 2 goals now instead of 1? So a lot has changed.

It’s not a yellow though. It was barely a foul. Mass exaggeration by the king of the divers. He’s all that’s wrong with football.

Juve struggling but I feel if they get a goal early here they have a good chance. Just as capable of scoring as Spurs are and should have 100% had a pen. Spurs are playing well though....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,700 ✭✭✭Glebee

1-0 Spurs at half time is all that matter. Spurs get an early goal in second half they will win easy.
