Anyone know what the story is with the electricity cabling above the footpath on New Dock St. & Flood St and the general mess of ESB infrastructure on Flood St. ... the overhead cabling seems to be feeding the Customs House and there's a good deal of crudely taped up cables on poles etc... just wondering what they're up to

I'm guessing they are making that country music programme for TG4 in The Quays.

hmm, not sure... the ESB poles further up Flood St. are wrapped up at their top and ESB Network have a mobile generator around these days, it's parked outside the library this morning

    Don't think it's related..

The regular outside broadcast cabling is in place at the bottom of Druid's lane and going into the Quays.

But there's something very different going on in the building in Augustine St opposite the library - in the next block up from the Quays. ESB Networks have a very large generator that I've never seen before parked outside, and there were lots of vans and lads around tonight taking tables into that building. Possibly it's going into the back of the Taibhdhearc.

ESB were upgrading infrastructure in Parkmore earlier on in the week.
They could be doing the same on St. Augustine St.
The mobile generator would be used to keep the supply on during maintenance.
