There's way too much going on IMO. They went from having nothing in Div1 light zone to not even being able to walk down the street now.

    I'm currently soloing.

I'm using a mixture of drone and gun turret. Working well so far. Also using mixture of 10bolt rifle and shotgun

When turret started glitching I switched to the revive thing. I never realised that it drops automatically when you're downed. Came in really handy having an auto second chance while finishing off the story.

Since I made it to end game things have gotten a lot easier so I might switch to something else again.

ACR is the best gun hands down. I got one rolled with extra capacity and then I made an extended mag for it. I get 73 rounds now. It's an LMG with AR handling. Bonkers.

Trying to finish the weekly project but I am having serious problems finding gear with the devastating talent.

Need 3 of them for the project and I have never even found 1 of them and I'm in world tier 4.

Where are people spending their perk points when starting off?

XP boost, really starts to ramp up as you level up
    extra armour shields
    carry extra stuff
attachments are bad early game except for the AR mag that doubles capacity so left those to last

that auto revive is very useful in the glitched skill slot. It doesn't always activate but seems to more often than not

Id recommend getting all the XP bonus ones straight off.

Just started on PC but I've found the healing skill "Reinforcer Chem Launcher" to be very useful. You can pop two heals in front of you, or in front of team mates for a quick boost.

Just search for Boards IE in the clans menu and I'll then accept the request. What's your PSN ID?

I found the clan and sent a request to join. My ID is Stylesclash07. Thanks again.

Division 1 was quite tough early on. When you are levelling up and optimising your gear you are very squishy. The enemy AI is pretty good in this with the flanking. There's nothing worse than tackling an event and getting ambushed by a random patrol, they seem to come from everywhere.
Once you optimise it will get a lot easier plus having an additional skill you can rely on will be invaluable.
The chem launcher heal variant is a must have for me. I can see the value in swapping it out at the end of a level when you have 5 armour kits and you need another aggressive skill but it's stuck in my R1 slot at this point.

I found Div 1 campaign tough enough but fair and actually really enjoyed the campaign and leveling process. And there were only a few points where you were forced to do side missions to reach a level required to proceed. I'm level 9 in Div 2 now and getting zero enjoyment out of the campaign, getting grenade spammed with 100% accuracy in tight spaces is the latest head melt.

I know people will say git gud and all that sh!te but I've 350 hours done in the first game but never remember is being this restrictive in terms of how my approach to a level. I'm not expecting to be able to face tank enemies but it would be nice to have some chance of survival and be able to change cover when a melee enemy appears out of nowhere without being insta-killed. Sick of camping at the back of maps sniping just to get through it.

Doesn't help that loot is constantly dropping below my level. There's no feeling of getting stronger as you progress so far, I'm as squishy as I was at level.

I think there is more emphasis on cover in this one. If you are out in the open you're in trouble because as someone pointed out there can be a lot going on. I think you got melted just as quick in the first one but here there's just more enemies shooting at you and flanking you. There were a lot of missions in D1 that consisted of me sniping from miles away or hiding behind a shield for much of them, not so much here.

I was playing with a friend yesterday and just dying laughing at how so unfair it seemed at times. They come at you from everywhere with lethal capability. To be fair most of my deaths are because of mistakes I made. The odd occasion a door will open right behind you and you get instakilled which is bs but generally it's not too bad.

The gear dropped regularly for me as I was levelling up. I have a gear score now and it seems to be increasing at a steady pace.

I think you might find in another level or two its becomes a bit easier, I found the same was having a tough time but once I reach lv11-12 and above it got a bit easier. you will start getting purple guns with added talents that make a difference and also gear. I'm at lv 15 now and im definitely more survivable. Got a lazer like M60 that mows down people and a couple of lazer like M4 AR's. Still not face tanking though:P and like you said taking time and not rushing into rooms only to get surrounded.

I am loving the game and love the LMGs.

For the more seasoned, my idea for the early leveling build is to be able to throw as much bullets down the field as I can. So if I am on LMG with an extended mag, with turret, and gun drone, will I be too much of a glass cannon?

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,147 ✭✭✭_CreeD_

As mentioned above it does get easier above level 10 or so. You will have more skills, perks and mods at your disposal aswell as more map knowledge (including how to predict where the devs likely placed mid-fight spawns for control-points and the like, you will naturally get more predictive and tactically aware of new topologies). Depends on your playstyle but I found having a super-stable AR really helped, add that 30+ mag and it was my go-to setup for the 2nd half of the game (swapping rifles and snipers on the 2nd slot).

I finished the main campaign last night with about 30 hours or so of main gameplay (have an alt to play with the missus) , I think there are maybe 3 side missions left on the map. I haven't felt that need to log back in an run just one more mission in a long time, worth the bleary eyed sleep hangover that followed each session. My only real gripe is I thought the Strongholds were a little underwhelming, I wanted insane onslaughts but ended up with just a longer mission. I really like how active the free play aspect is now an am looking forward to playing with the specialisations and Black Tusk invasion.

I'm in world tier 1 now and haven't even looked at character builds. Just using whatever drops with a higher GS. I used the MG5 a lot in D1 but the reload time and smallish magazine are killing me. Playing at a lower level yesterday and I was stuck with that and the M1a1 all day and tired of using them in the end. I think my set up will ultimately involve an AR with extended mags and an SMG/LMG. There are enough armour pick ups that you don't absolutely need a healing skill (probably) I constantly have 5 of them but I do use a healing skill a lot.

I'm looking after the PC clan.

    EoinMcLovin has the PS4 clan.

I haven't seen any mention of the XBox clan being setup yet.

I set up an Xbox clan, Irish Agents.

Anyone on Xbox feel free to send a join request or PM your gamertag and I'll add you

Will check again maybe tonight when misses falls a sleep.

I applied to the clan in the White House and then was accepted. Not sure if there was a pop up to say I was in

Managed to get to level 30 today and I will say that I enjoyed every minute so far. It's a bit of a grind but nothing too bad.

Solo is definitely the way to go so you don't end up horrendously under powered by the scaling mechanism for groups.

A bit of match making on the harder missions and it's very doable.

Its no walk in the park and there is definitely a bit of a plateau in leveling around the mid levels or a bit earlier but it's just something to live with and be more strategic with your choices.

Definitely do plenty of control points and open world activities while you are collecting shade Tec and just rambling around in between side missions and main story.

You get great loot early on from the control point store caches and nice xp so it's worth it.

If anyone is looking to start the world tier grind on xbox, link in with me as now the real grind begins :D

been using the MG5 for the past day, it's good but the reload is painful and magazine size is low @ 50, it must be 5 seconds. Just got an LSW86, have an extended mag mod which doubles the capacity to 60 and reloads in a second (maybe 2), I love it. I've hammered the stability by -25% and it's still great

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,576 ✭✭✭EoinHef

Think someone mentioned it already but the enemy spawns feel a bit cheap the first time you play a mission which leads to deaths. Coming out of doors from behind etc

The second time you plan for them to come from there so its easy. Its weird, the game punishes you for not staying in cover but then spawns enemies right behind you to force you out of cover. Making players move is a not nessacerily a bad thing but some of the spawns feel unfair when you havent ran a mission 10 times over and dont know them.

Not a big deal but something they could look at even if only for story difficulty.

This 100%, if you go cover to cover while enemies reload and wait for the right window, the enemy npcs will fire and flank the last location they spotted you

Just got done with the first stronghold, I was pleased enough with it, thought it changed the mechanics up just enough to make it stand out from the standard story missions, and the mid section especially felt like a nice middle ground between a story mission and the incursions from the first game.
