Chem launcher mod that fires foam can take them out of the equation for a few seconds, and if you go that route the Marksman specialist flashbang is also effective. Take the Ads while the ton'o'fun is sidelined and that leaves you with more freedom to finish him off.

It's a real shame you can't run dual chem launchers, it has some great options but I find I hate not having it for the healing ability.

yeah it's a must have for me, now I'm so used to it
Running this and the revive all the time now. I think the revive one is bugged in that it doesn't work all the time and is fiddly for teammate pickups

One of the lads i game with who always ran with skill power builds on Div1 is running the chem launcher foam thingy and has 8 charges of it plus increased size of area it effects thanks to mods and its crazy.

We had already cleared everything in the game at max world tier and challenging difficulty handy enough apart from one which we had to respawn as a team and go again but we reran them all again yesterday with the chem foam launcher and it was just stupid easy with this foam allover the place, surely they have to nerf it.

Overall the game has exceeded my expectations in a big way.
World Tier 5 and raids cant come quick enough :)

Just got it downloaded and just got as far as theatre settlement and met the lady with the prosthetic leg. It looks great and feels crisp looking forward to getting stuck in to it tomorrow properly.

Any beginner tips or wisdom i should know before gettibg stuck in?

    - Get the XPs perk from the quartermaster, it will help you level faster.

-LMGs are really handy for leveling.

    -Do the extended mag mission.

    - At 30, it's all about gear score; If you get a piece of gear and it's higher level, the level number will be green otherwise red. If it's green equip it. The gear drops drop off your gear score, so always look to improve this.

    - Have fun!

So after a quick couple hours with this im struggling to warm to this with enemies hard to see and always so far away along with just feeling disconnect from it all like a feeling of boredom nearly sadly.
Maybe my addiction to the first division is so strong that im struggling to accept the changes but im not enjoying this:(

Hit WT4 earlier at GS 400 or so. Thought I'd try out the new alert-level mechanic on a control point, ran it to level-3. Night turned to day, thunderstorm blinded me for most of it but about 20 mins real time, one-reviva-hive and i think 3-4 dead ally-squads and I finally took the damn thing. Exhilerating but pretty damn exhausting so I figured I'd level up a bit more before trying that again. I hadn't done any of the allocated bounties (outside of automatic awards for projects) so gave one a try without paying attention to much beyond that it was closest to the white house). Turns out it was on challenging. I don't know if it's a standard part of that difficulty level but both bosses were in different areas that required a hard entry, either no or very little room to maneuvre or retreat. Pretty similar experience to the L3 control-point but I wore them down.
Great fun, halfway through each I really though I'd be quitting out of them and just seeing how far I could get for experience.

One thing to add on the advice that keeps being given about GS and always equipping the higher score item, it does help you gain higher level equipment faster (the drops are based on your current GS). But don't overdo it, still keep an eye on some key talents and more importantly when you see some you really like keep that equipment so you can use it to re-calibrate onto something else at end-game. (remember recallibration on this one is about taking a talent from one piece and moving it to another, destroying the original, build a bank of good talents as you go).

Stick with it, it's different in enough ways to put you off at the start but the improvements will really become more evident as you pass level 10 or so (imho).

Like Creed said after about lv 10 it does get easier as you unlock more talents and skills and you get better guns. I was like yourself couldn't get the hang of it but now I'm loving it.

Any of you guys think there is almost too many things to be doing...tongue.pngsometimes I'd be thinking should I be doing control points, side missions, main missions, bounties, projects confused.png and I end up not fully doing anything.

I'm lv26 now and just done the Federal bunker main mission, now that was a good mission. I must say the graphics are amazing I played this on my OneX on my 75inch 4K HDR TV and this mission in particular I though just looked fantastic. From those colored cubes of light to the general lighting etc
Also that last boss fight where that Boss is pounding on the glass with the sledge while you are fighting off the waves of NPC's certainly got the pulse going as to when he was going to break through.

Must finish off the final couple of main missions this week and then grind to WT4

I'm definitely keeping. Shotgun as my secondary weapon. Really handy when scum get in around you up close. Still happy to use my classic carbine as main

Tried the second stronghold last night with a group of randoms from matchmaking, we were making good progress until
the section where you reach the dock and have to destroy the 2 fuel tanks
when the mobs just made absolute bits of us, to the point where it felt unfair. Even with 2 of us on mounted guns, we still couldn't stem the tide , and the lack of respawn made it impossible to get a res on someone as it just took too long, with aggressive melee rushers bearing down on us. the fact that you have to start the encounter form the very beginning every time you fail was further insult to injury. One of the lads reckons its easier solo, so I'll give it a shot tonight. but it was a bit disappointing all told.

Sometimes you have to play the spawn system. Most encounters have limited and hard coded spawns so you can simply learn and pick them off over time if they're particularly tough. If I remember rightly this part of that mission is one of the few with constant waves after the first few orchestrated rushes. Those waves alternate from each side but only spawn a set amount at a time, so hop on one of the guns and mow down one side completely, try and just suppress the other side's wave as it will only spawn a set amount at a time, no dead = no new spawn so they are held predictably at a distance from your objective. Focus on the tank on the side you just cleared then fight your way back to the center and repeat for the other one. Another option that I haven't tried yet is you could also use the foam chem launcher, again immobilise rather than kill until you have destroyed the objectives.

I did that one solo and i mentioned this stronghold in my previous post.
That part is a piss take. Really a lot to deal with on one life. I completed it by pure luck.

Anyway, I am in T1 world now and holy crap... Mmy lovely sea of green on the map turned in to sea of Red!!!
Did a few things around, but looks like there is nothing permanent anymore. Map control is completely taken over by factions.
Did two new missions to unlock next stronghold mission. Cursed a lot as it became a lot harder. I don't know if it's spoiler or not, but 4th faction is a pain in a hole!
If I understand right, I need to do that next stronghold to go up to T2 world?

I was playing really late the other night on my own, just leveling, i got to a cut scene (the one where the presidents giving a speech of some sorts to everybody, and kinda zoned out for the end of it due to a bombardment of texts on the phone.

Anyway, i think i may have finished the games main mission campaign? How can i tell where to progress to next? There are no blue main mission icons left to do and there may be one blue side mission left.. Is that it?? What do i do now?

I was level 25 when it happened, so just spent the last day or so helping a mate level the same missions, im currently 29. Do i just keep leveling until 30 and then look into strongholds and the dark zones?

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,409 ✭✭✭✭gimli2112

for that one we tend to go to one of the sides which takes the MG out of play. Gets easier later on when you have a demolishinist or two for crowd control. The middle MG is good if there's only two of you

On my second character now when I get to that one I've got ten projects to cash in so I can over level

strongholds are your next story mission iirc. if you press start, it usually says what your next recommended activity is on the far right panel.

Oh yeah, big post on reddit about it. Its becoming a huge problem...better have it fixed before any other new stuff is released.

On the crafting bench - I haven't been playing huge attention to it, just did a few gun attachements as they became available. I was prompted to upgrade my bench the other night, and did so, but I didnt notice if you can now craft optics with a better stat roll?

No, if you craft it, it has the same stats. There's no different versions, once you craft an ACOG for example, that's it, all ACOGs are the same, with no regard to gear score or WT.

I've seen players hitting above 460-465 and the like but I wonder what the actual cap is? I thought it was 450 but I'm getting drops higher and I'm 462 now but it's an awful grind. Awful fun I mean :D

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,409 ✭✭✭✭gimli2112

just watching a youtuber saying one of the issues is once you hit the soft cap there's no real desire to continue. I have this to an extent and it's why I'm concentrating on an alt. I don't see the point in concentrating on a build when it becomes obsolete once WT5 launches.

This has always and will always be a problem with any grind game? The carrot on the stick is the end game and once you conquer it you feel satiated; job done, mission accomplished.

Then the hole opens up again and you're left wanting more.

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,409 ✭✭✭✭gimli2112

yes but the problem here is there's no real reason to grind as they are going to introduce a new world tier that will make all your stuff redundant, or at least as I understand it. I have about 3 gear sets I'm saving but beyond that I'm not looking closely at perks, talents or mod slots. I don't really understand what I'm looking for which isn't unusual as it took me several goes in the first one.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,449 ✭✭✭Rob2D

Dark Zone was always meant to be the true end game.

If I wasn't playing Sekiro right now, that's where I'd be. DZ99 was a long road in the first game. I haven't actually heard many opinions on the new DZ. Plus there's conflict mode or whatever.

Much better off to do either of those than keep going in the open world.

Definitely not getting as much time as I want with this but 22 hours in, level 12 and just beat the NASA administration hq level last night. That level/boss was a pain in the hole. Found an SMG that's ripping through people. What's the side mission with extended mag? I have a blueprint for on that extends the mag but decreases rate of fire, is that it?
