So next Friday. That's good, it's better than the old way of things hitting on like a Tuesday or whatever.

What's the big improvement in this over the first game? I'm 15 hours or so in and it seems practically the same. Is the end game where it shines over its predecessor? The campaign in this seems less involving than the last one if anything, gunplay is very satisfying though.

I guess the game doesnt kinda end after the campaign.

That was the most bitched about thing in TD1.

The campaign is less involving but at the same time the mission structure is better, also side missions have been massively improved and some rival main missions in length and quality. Mostly for me now it's that the world is much more dynamic. Once you'd finished the story on Div1 it just became about content-hotspots like re-doable missions and incursions etc. The world itself was a pretty but uneventful pipe to get you there. The world in Div2 is much more active and some random events can really spice things up (e.g. trying to tactically take a level 3 control-point when an elite supply patrol shows up behind you). The bounty system is much better with levels you work through to gain access to tougher and tougher enemies (taking out underlings to get to the next group) without having to seriously grind target-intel (it's still a requirement but not as extreme a cost and enough drops as you go that you rarely have to pause your hunting to get more). So, yeah much like the first but turned up to 11.

Has anyone tried the daily challenging mission today? Tried it earlier with randomers and made it to the docks, it was a massacre!!

I miscalculated my grand plan I currently have 18 projects to hand in which are currently going at 23K apiece. I now have too much xp in reserve on character 2

the only challenging stuff I've done is bounties. I remember doing hard and challenging stuff in the division 1. Usually when they launched you were massively under levelled and there were really brutal. I spent 8 hours completing Russian Consulate the first time

i got a dreadful pickup group to do it, was losing my patience by the end of it though, lots of deaths, rezes and failures, took about an hour.. forgot how much i hated having to pug stuff.

doing pug bounties is deadly though, gear and specialist points just piles up so fast

Strongholds don't. Are you confusing them with control points?

Then yes, they flip back. Which is just as well, as the tier 3+ ones are a source of blueprints.

Has anyone a good link to builds? Specifically around The Demolitionist Specialist and best gear to use. I have The Milatary M60 and T821 and The Chatterbox too. Just wondering what armor and talents would be best to go with this. I am on WT4.

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,409 ✭✭✭✭gimli2112

Haven't really looked at builds. I saw something the other day, a talent called frenzy, can't fully recollect what it does now. It only comes on a few guns the RPK being one but I remember thinking "Good God!"

Demolitionist is my main. I'll be building around SMGs and LMGs. The Vector is the best non exotic afaik. Crit chance cap is 60% same as 1 so that will be a must and then pile on crit damage. There are gear sets that max both SMGs and LMGs so I'll need to look at that.
I liked the MG5 in one but can't get used to it here and have preferred the M249 or M60.

There are a few videos on youtube/google but just feel it's too early to start building with WT5 around the corner.

maintenance today. Lot of minor fixes. few caught my eye

Improvements made to Co-op health scaling. Played a bit in a group last week and didn't notice any issues.

Fixed an issue that would allow players to upgrade neutral control points. Dammit, knew I should have been exploiting this.

Fixed “Navigate Categories” and “Mark as Junk” being bound to the same button in some occurrences. This better be a fix for the mods although I had found a workaround.

Servers are definitely up for PC. I'd suggest a restart (to release any file locks) and then try an integrity check.

Having a real game killer problem here.

Sometimes on side missions when playing inside buildings, everything goes the colour white. Walls, counter tops, objects and a white haze. Playing on PC. Any ideas?

Lads whats the story with "The Hunters"? I never came across them in the 1st game think it was an expansion...
Anyway apparently in Div 2 there are puzzles to solve in order to fight them & get their masks..

Also can someone tell me how to use Discord for clan chat...
    Thanks!

There's various hunters, some are little more than decoration, others can be killed for both masks and ivory keys.

There's 8 riddles about the world in graffiti, using cipher codes. They point to 8 hunters, who drop both masks and the ivory keys. 8 ivory keys open a weapons case in the white house.

There are some hunters that just run when spotted and are effectively just atmospheric.

A few others can appear, but aren't part of the riddles and don't drop the ivory keys.

Here's one of the simpler ones to start with:

It doesn't depend upon being night, unlike many of the others.

In relation to discord, there should be an invite link in the clan message feed. Just download the app and under join server enter in the code. If that doesn’t work just PM me here and I’ll send you a link. Chat at the moment hasn’t taken off really on the discord but I’m thinking when more people are level 30 there might be more traffic on the server.

Alright, get some division in before bed fuuuuuuuuuuu update, okay update was quick download fuuuuuuuuuuu copying file. Took 5 minutes to go from 7% to 9% and now seems stuck :(

While I wait, apologies to Irish Dave who joined my session last night, I was just heading off man.

Thanks again to those that recommended the AR extended mag. I thought the reduced rate of fire wouldn't be worth equipping it but I'm mowing people down with my AR and if I get stuck, switching to my SMG that is just as good, lovely combo going now.

Hit level 30 yesterday and altho a very enjoyable game with something to do after its finished, I have a few minor/major annoyances:
    1. The NFL QuarterBack who after the event decided to be a grenade thrower for a cult. Why cant i do that? Why do I have to fight with a system that lets me gently throw a nade nowhere near where I wanted but I just selected it because **** it......
    2. The system that decides that my 50k armour/30k health can be one shotted by a 30k hit. Do they have mods too? What is the actual point of those numbers?
    3. I collect literally thousands of **** from containers but i have 13 titanium, I am 100% sure I see titanium popping up constantly but I have 13. several million steel too......
    4. I am used to tabbing out of a game to find out WTF (Elite Dangerous) but the game simply does not explain anything regarding, skill score, armour, health.....Perks/talents....at no point does the game say anything about it. I have to read guides to not get one shotted.
    5. The weapons seem interchangeable, they have no real point or feel other than DPS and reload time, everything else is non esstiantial

Have the specialization to look forward to but I think the actual gameplay will get stale for me, i like cover shooters but having a million K armour and some red dude can one shot you because.... whatever is a bit stupid.

It is a very enjoyable game.

Just hit Lv30 and bust through the Capitol Building easy enough, matchmaked and joined the mission maybe mid way through with another team... kinda disappointed I didn't get the chance to do the whole lot but Im sure I'll be back there:P

Chose the Demolitionist specialization as I'm not too great with snipers and the crossbow thing doesn't look cool enough...anyway got me my nade launcher so I decided to run down to the gun range to get a feel for it and not to mess up when in the heat of battle. But what do you know!!! in the gun range it uses your special ammo and doesn't refill!!what crap is that, so now Ive no ammo :( I know Ill pick them up as I go along but that's not the point you would think they would give you unlimited ammo in the gun range.

    Anyway let the grind continue....
