hopped on with the intention of grinding to 30 last night (mid 28 at the moment), and decided to answer a call for help.
lo and behold he was on the Roosevelt island stronghold that has bested me so far. We made our way through the most of it, right up until the section on the docks where once again everything went to bits once more. saying git gud is one thing, but this stonghold genuinely feels unfair. mounted gun a$$hole in the boat makes every attempt to avoid rushers a death sentence, even if you kill him, another hero quickly takes his place. after about 6 attempts, I called it a night and logged off, with no progress made.

I'll give it another go over the weekend, but my patience is wearing thin on it.

The thing about specializations and its something a lot of players overlook is spending specialized points in not so obvious areas could benefit your build.
For example everyone knows the survivalist gains 15% extra AR damage so most assume this is the way to go for an AR build, not always so.
The Sniper specialization offers 30% reload speed which in itself is a very large DPS increase straight away but also offers increased accuracy which translates to more bullets actually hitting the target.
So you could have an AR with huge damage but no matter what mods you put in it it recoils like hell simply gaining this 30% reload speed and stability bonus might be a better option than 15% AR damage.
Many more similar options available so worth your while to take note.

Did this and the finial one last night and we breezed through it...I was dropped a few times but nothing more than stupidity on my part. I was already Lv30 and matched with randoms. I think one of the guys was leveled up to match the mission. Maybe you should wait until you get a bit more better gear and you are lv30. That particular section alright you think you have it done then wtf...another wave comes out of no where.:(

Started the night in WT1, finished in WT2. 3 missions and a stronghold. Equipping anything with a higher GS, regardless of colour or perks. At this rate, WT5 will be upon me in no time.

Have only really started looking at modding my skills, currently running the Hive heal thing and turret. What's the consensus on optimal skill selection?

Have started to hold on to some gear now too for perks, just in case I need to transfer it over to an almost God Roll.

This is where I spent 3 hours on the other day but on Challenging and it was a massacre :pac:

There is a turret over to the right hand side up high which i'd recommend two guys to make there way to, one to defend while the other is on the turret which you can then use this to take the guy out on the boat. The other two should go in the opposite direction to drag the enemies away and use something like the Flame Turret and Drone to take the heat off.

I'm not sure if it has been mentioned here and I also haven't seen any videos online talking about it yet but two of the lads joined my session the other night and we ran a few missions. I am on WT4 and they were WT1 and 2 so their gear score was far lower but any gear that dropped for me, was at my level and I could share the gear I earned in that mission with them and it stayed at the score that it dropped for me when they equipped it which increased their score dramatically so that would be a big help to you Stone! I will be on tonight from 8 if you want to jump in for a mission or two to get that gear to help you.

Edit: You can share the gear while playing the mission or afterwards for a period of an hour I think, after that, you can't share that gear with them. You will see a little Transfer Icon on the gear you can share, just press down on the left thumb stick on the xbox controller and then select share, it will seem like nothing has happened but if you just back out of the menu after selecting share, it drops the item where you are standing.

sound for that tony, I should be on later alright, although I dont think I'll be able to equip any of that gear till i hit level 30, so I'll get cracking on that in the meantime.
we thought we had it done at one stage, had the two fuel tanks destroyed by using the turrets, but they managed to get us with a wave of yellow bars that we just couldnt drop in time.

Second this, but don't get up their too early as the waves come from multiple directions and you could get caught. Best time is after you have destroyed the tanks and then you have to destroy the boat. We had some lad up their when they started coming off the boat and he just mowed them down including the boss...it was great.

No bother pal. Ya, it’s level 30 when you can use them but you will fly through the World Tiers then with the gear.

Was dreading the second stronghold on my 2nd character with randoms, so had a plan to save all projects and bank the xp. Went from 27-30, what I hadn't realised was it let me immediately equip all my WT4 gear from my first character.
All going well until the very last level. My three little randoms expire and I'm left with the entire last wave including the sledgehammer fatty and the MG on the boat. The term Hero is overused.
    Not today.

After you bought the flame mod for it with SHD points, did you then equip it from the inventory screen where you get to assign skills to the shoulder buttons?

I unlocked the turret but don't use it, the revive hive and healing chem launcher work so good for me at the moment.

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,409 ✭✭✭✭gimli2112

the worst thing about the revive hive is it's the best, you hardly ever need it but sometimes when you do it doesn't work

playing a challenging mission with a friend today, pretty hard, killed the boss, wiping up the remenants, a fecking healer appears and starts reviving. Ages later we kill him, another wave, Another healer who revives the first one. Now we have two healers and loads of revived enemies (which are tougher than when we first killed them). Was actually worried they would revive the boss

What's the advantage of a second character apart from using as a mule?

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,409 ✭✭✭✭gimli2112

Yeah mule and may need it to run multiple weekly end game events. Didn't mind doing it while WT5 was held back probably wouldn't have, done so early, otherwise

Fought the group of 4 hunters last night, ****ing hell that was insanely hard.

The fight ended out in a control point which actually helped us.

Sadly I only got 3 masks :( one bugged out.

Got a side mission last night to answer a distress call from a fellow division agent trying to take a control point. Was not expecting that!!
was that a hunter I was fighting? All happened very fast and left me in a dizzy state when he took off. I guess that's an introduction to hunters taking out agents? Absolutely awesome.

Have a choice to unlock a new skill, currently have the Scanner Pulse and Cluster seeker mines. Enjoying the a lot to be fair. Should i save the skill points than rather getting something else

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,498 ✭✭✭ECO_Mental

Quick tip guys regarding the specialists that I saw on reddit. If you are out of ammo go back to the HQ and re-select another specialist the re-select your org and you should now have full ammo again....great tip for this idiot who blasted all his ammo on the firing range thinking they were going to be unlimited on the firing range :(

Get the Turret. Helps a lot just make sure you throw it in a good location.
I find it better than the pulse.

Pair it with Safeguard on a backpack if you can (a great boost for any healing skill actually).

Is it worth crafting the chatterbox now or wait until later?

    Never mind, crafted it :)
Once you do craft it though, the blueprint shows up in the store.
