Is there a reason some of the bounties aren't selectable on the bounty map? Some of them appear as the selectable target icon, others just have the faction icon with a dot underneath it that I can't do anything with.

I'm probably missing something really stupid here but it's driving me mad!

If they're the weeklies have you done the pre-requisite bounties, also do you have the required target-intel?

That's what I had thought initially, that maybe it was the priority network stuff but doesn't seem to be the case. One of them is the VIP weekly and the other is the daily bounty. I'll have a look into target intel but thought I was carrying loads.

    Cheers for the pointers.

    Okay I'm an idiot.

I did not realise that when you click on the target icon you cold scroll through all available bounties in an area. Feeling verrrrrry stupid.

The difference between Alert 3 and 4 control-points is nuts. 3s are mildly challenging but 4 means a slow running battle with a few respawns on the way. I just finished one where the counter-attack elites followed me for over a kilometer, including one cheat spawn behind me (I was keeping 3 at about 70 meters and picking chunks off them, running through other NPC groups when one disappears, I was still heading down the same street when he pops out behind me). I think I just wore them out, the AI took pity on me or my ally team did better than usual because in the middle of it they just disappeared and it told me the point was ours. Granted I wasn't using my ideal build, I've maxed marksman and am levelling up demolitionist but I still have pretty decent damage output from it and I was still running and gunning for my life.
    Fun, but pretty damn stressful.

got my first exotic in the wild - sweet dreams exotic spas. From the daily challenging end boss. Gave it away, it better not turn out to be a ghallehorn.

Did the secret side mission for the smg muzzle. +20% crit chance -10% rof, thing's awesome

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,409 ✭✭✭✭gimli2112

playing more of this not less, which is worrying. Still don't know what I'm doing build wise but the mainstays for me are

Demolitionist. LMG and SMG. Although Survivalist and a good P416 AR is sensational.
SMG with 20% mag 2nd perk. Currently running the Police T821. Osprey suppressor. Very slow rof but hits like a truck. Probably prefer about 5 SMGs in this slot but the perks are good
M60 has unhinged in perk 1 which I just found yesterday and is insane. 25% extra gun damage although you lose 30% handling. Have something to counter that but may switch it to allegro

Beserker just too good not to have. Would like clutch on the gloves as well but can't get my defence low enough.
Patience ditto. (Kneepads) This may eventually allow me run two offensive skills but for now still attached to the chem launcher heal

Mask for damage to elites. Have one with +44% as an attribute

Fire turret (Revive hive when solo) and chem launcher heal

Lots more to do and learn but it's a start

So I'm level 30 and just have the capitol building stronghold to complete to unlock specialisations and invaded missions. I still have a lot of control points, side missions and projects to do. Would I be better off completing them before doing the last stronghold

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,409 ✭✭✭✭gimli2112

No do the stronghold. You want to unlock the specialisation as quick as you can so you can start ranking it up. The control points flip back and forth anyway and you'll have better uses for the xp from everything else once you get to the higher world tiers

    OK good to know

Are the three strongholds basically the last three story missions? I have two of them done now but I'm only level 27 and there doesn't seem to be anything else to do on the map apart from side missions.

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,409 ✭✭✭✭gimli2112

yeah the strongholds are the last three. If you've done the second one the last one should be a walk in the park, although it is level 29-30 enemies so I would want to be near 30 doing it. Think I was just 29 but the xp on the last one was massive and pushed me over to 30

Once you do the last stronghold you'll be put into WT1. Then you do 2 missions + a stronghold to progress through each World Tier until you hit WT4. You'll need to get the gear score up each time as you'll notice a spike in difficulty but you level up pretty quick so it's not an issue.

i think my games just bugged, i cant complete the shd network when i go into the room i cant do anything, i also had this cutscene saying i could now upgrade my gear at some new work bench fiddle with the stats and stuff but it's not there. :(

I had the same issue with re-activating the SHD network on Xbox. Dashboarded the game and when I started it back up I could then interact with the server and trigger the cutscene.

WT 2 at the moment. When can I start looking at getting a build? I find I am just swapping out pieces to increase GS so its impossible to commit to a build right now. Unless I am doing it wrong. Looking to stack armour and health, basic tank build in other words

patience on the knee pads is becoming a must have for me

My GS score is 388 and my knee pads are like 360. I can't find other ones with that talent and no way I am going in without it anymore.
Trying to balance my gear to be at 7 blue perks is really hard. I even keep few low level gear pieces just in case I need to bump it up after losing blue somewhere else.

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,409 ✭✭✭✭gimli2112

I'm still struggling with builds. I don't think you can really commit until Wt5 and for now just keep increasing GS.

You can build a really decent character at WT4 but once WT5 comes you'll need to rejig. There's no standout build as far as I know. Sure you can build towards PvE or PvP but there are several ways of doing each and none of them are necessarily wrong.

One of the criticisms of Div 1 was you'd spend a hundred hours perfecting your build and they'd change everything with a patch. You can expect the same again.

You could swap patience onto another higher GS kneepads at the recalibration table. There's no real negative, says the man with no money or materials.

That's bread and butter for these types of games imo. That's how they keep you playing.

Oh, I'll do that. Just waiting to hit wt4 and then upgrade to better item. I think I have one spare one in stash too.

I am not sure I like the new recalibration. It makes you fill up your inventory with garbage. It is weird how some stats you can swap, the others can't etc.

I got to level 18 last night, enjoying the hell out of it. For ye lads on WT, are ye replaying main missions on harder difficulty to increase gear score and move up WT, just wondering what end game is like.

There is balancing which is fine, nerfng this and buffing this but in D1 they went overboard where is was a radical reworking or of the builds and fundamentally how the mechanic worked. It broke me in the end I forget which patch it was but I had a great setup but then overnight it was useless. I quit after that.

I missed in the original D1 the early builds where everybody had a role, some guys were absolute glass cannons, I built a max skill power loadout that you felt part of the team. Pulse increasing CC and CD to max for everyone and the cover skill where when in cover it gave you massive shields and increased weapon damage by was it up to 30% of more.

Anyway I like D2 and I don't think that they are going to make any drastic changes to the build mechanics. Too much time invested by the devs to have it as right as possible from the start. But sure enough some dude is going to create some beast mode build but that will be nerfed and that ok.

I've been doing level 3 control points for blueprints and challenging bounties with a friend. Challenging dallies are grand with two or more. Wouldn't fancy a few of them solo. Now I have my 2nd guy at WT4 I'm back on my main but ranking up a different specialisation via levelling up and challenging missions / dailies.

I'd certainly agree the recalibration and gear variety is too much. Much of this boils down to frustration for me in that I'll get something that has three things on it I really want but two that I don't. My stash and inventory is full of crap.

Strained works quite well with Patience as well and worth looking out for.

Can't get strained to work with my current build, the offence number is too high. Would love it though. I think it needs 5 or less to activate. I do hate that particular mechanic.

I should say I could probably get it to work by swapping out certain things but then I'll lose something like Beserker.

Can't really get past gs 460 but just has wt5 comes along I get a beast of an AR, typical

If you're in WT1/T2/T3 and you have a friend who is WT4, have them join your session and run a few missions / strongholds with you, all their gear will drop at the max level for that particular world tier.

They can share said gear with you and this will bump your gear score massively.

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,409 ✭✭✭✭gimli2112

yeah you can. I did this a little on my first one. I was way behind GS in WT1. A mate gave my an mp5K and my GS went up something like 35. That one gun subsequently made the journey to 4 a lot easier and quicker.

Lads have to say overall I am so dissapointed with the game, having spent over 2000 hrs with the 1st game the 2nd one is still full of the same terrible trademarks of the 1st game that the developers said they had learned from. I have 2 fully maxed out chars. as I wanted to give the game every opportunity to grow on me but its the same old same old with a different box.

The pop up in the game is so so annoying, even when in the map for 5mins cars and scenery are still not rendered properly its like playing on a PS3. Why put so much detail in when clearly even the PS4 Pro is struggling to handle it. Maybe if they stopped putting 15 staircases into every safe house and all that useless clutter it would not be so intensive.

I also find the game very boring in solo player, the gadgets are so under whelming. The only thing worth using is the Chem launcher the rest are so bad.....

Mtashed and other youtubers have demonstrated in the last few days that the same stupid damage model from the 1st game is still there and "No matter what health you have" you still will die in the exact same time frame REGARDLESS if you have 1000 HP or 1million hp.

Mtashed stood in front of 3 purple enemies with 3 different health builds from very little health up to 3 times the health and armour (last one insane health build) and still died within .1 of a second. Game is still a broken mess......

My main is still suffering from the upgrade crafting bug so that char is useless at the minute. And dont get me started on the pop up enemies in the DZ........

Highly doubt that the damage model can be sorted now so we are stuck with the same flaws but without the thrill of gear sets etc. The new ones coming out are not class specific afaik.

Yeah it was quite evident from the start that this was pretty much a copy-paste job with a lot of the code from 1. I reckon they got started quite early in Div1 lifecycle and that's why we're seeing old bugs again. They copied a lot of stuff before it could even be fixed.

I remember either in the beta or day 1 of release, I got killed because of the grenade launcher stagger bug. I knew in that instant that they'll never sort themselves out unless they completely make a new engine or something.

I haven't even looked at DIV2 since I got to WT4 and I honestly don't feel a need either. I'll be quite happy just to hop into the DZ to gear for new content and leave it at that. Definitely can't see myself being a lifer like I was in the first one.

As you say, all the tell tale signs are there that this will just be plagued with problems all over again.

I'm really enjoying it. What you're saying is true but it's not detracting from what I'm getting out of it. I got killed behind cover the other day and was thinking how much you'd enjoy that Wonda :)

The one thing that does annoy me is free roam. The amount of times you get ambushed out of nowhere is horrible. Other than that I'm able to see past it's flaws. I think I have that bench bug on my 2nd character although it may be I don't have the materials to rank it up.

The worst bug I've heard is if you are taken through WT4 too quick ie. do the WT3 stronghold without having the level requirements it totally locks your character in WT1. No specialisations and no way to get to WT4.
