Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Do nothing yet. They will apply the offer in a day or two. In the meantime call Vodafone and they will give you a small allowance to keep you going.

I switched to Vodafone from Eir and so far I'm regretting it. The 4G with Eir in Douglas was much faster. Even the 4G+ was about 20% fast wirh Eir.
Iv been to Skibbereen and Waterville and Vodafone was patchy where as Eir was good. The one area of the country Iv been to where Eir was crap was the extreme south east around Our Lady''s Island.

Opposite for me, my VF 3g is faster than the so called 4g I had with eir and the customer service is far superior with VF
Same here, VF customer care for me great compared to the shambolic eir (so called customer care) and calls/data fab,I've 4G always, even last night in belgooly,a noted black spot for data etc,I had H,H+, with TM no signal,ID no signal (data) so as long as this offer lasts I'm staying with VF,their care team actually listens, even gave me a call back, never ever known with eir

My 4G data is not working. I contacted Customer care through chat who supposedly made changes and asked me to reboot. Still only seeing a "H" at top of screen. Is there anything I can manually change/check on my phone?

Same happened me. First support guy said he "refreshed my settings" and to reboot, but nothing happened.

Rang back and got a different guy and he said my account wasn't provisioned for 4G. He made the change and 4G popped up straight away without need to reboot.

What phone are you using - could possibly be disabled on the handset too.

Got sorted with 2nd support person. Seeing 4G now. :)

    Call 1747 customer services.

That did the trick. When I mentioned the "Data User Plan", they said this was likely a "Sales offer" and would take 24-48 hours to appear in offer list.

I asked what I could do while I was waiting for this to appear and they added 1GB, 100mins and 100 texts to my account.

I had already received 20gb of data free through the Freebie section of the Vodafone app so this will keep me going for the moment.

Thanks to all for your help here.

I've just moved to Vodafone payg. Would I have to leave again and try to come back to get this?
Is it a lot of effort? It sounds like a better deal that what I have.

Does the 20gb of data you got have an expiry date on it or does it only run out when its used?

As many have noted above, porting your number to the blank SIM can take a few days. For some it has taken 24 hours, but in my case took 10 days, so just keep the vodafone SIM on you until coverage goes on your old 48 SIM.

Was a Vodafone customer till last week and was paying 60€ for same plan, anyhow ported to Eir and now back to Vodafone.
    1. Called yesterday , sim was posted
    2. Today received sim and got a message around 5 pm that port is in process and lost data connectivity straightaway.
    3. I still have signal and can make calls but no data, rang Vodafone and they said port is in process.

Any one had similar issue where they were left without data for number of hours?
    Thanks

    Takes a bit of time

Thanks, port is completed but first they couldnt find me in the system , sales must have added some diff name to my account.
Once that was sorted now they can’t apply credit as system is down now 😔

    Waiting for call back.

Can anyone give a brief synopsis of what the deal is and how to avail of it. Rather then going through the posts (apologies for my laziness). I read the first page but it wasn't clear if this is for current vodafone customers or not. I'm with eir at the minute. My deal is very good but the signal is shocking.

Top up by €20 every month gets you 15gb data and unlimited texts to anyone.
You keep the €20 credit and use either €5 to get 100 minutes or €15 to get unlimited calls .
So you either have €5 or €15 left in your account each month to use on whatever.
    Number is 1800 595 595 then press option 2.
Hopefully Get someone from northern Ireland and just ask for the data user plan.
    Job done :D

No. They wont allow you to switch to it. Its port in only. Loads of people have tried customer care and that phone number and you can only get it by porting in, not being an existing customer

Give them a call and they,ll give you minutes and texts and some data to tide you over till it activate.
Although my balance was 10.50€ when I registered before calling them and when I received an allowance to tie me over it went down to €8.50 ,that happen to anyone else?

Rang VF on Monday and signed up, sim arrived Tuesday morning and port happened Tuesday afternoon, very swift.
Got 200 texts, mins and 2gb of data.
Haven't gotten any credit though, seeing mentions of €10/20, any insight into this?
    Thanks

don't want to sound like an idiot , but what do you do when the sim card arrives?

Wait for the text from Vodafone that port is in process and then wait for signal to drop and swap sim.

Ring customer care on 1747. and mentioned that it will take few days to plan to be activated and they will give some free min, txt and data.

Chat or ring again if no 4g available they will do manual refresh.

Vodafone app, freebie section, you should get 20gb free data, claim that then Wait for the offer to be activated, might take 3/4 days. mine is 2 days and still not activated. once offer is activated you should get free €20 credit too then top up as mentioned before.

I am not sure if you can wait for top up till free mins and txt are finished.

yeh i seen mine is now the same €8.51 on mine. i wonder why that is
Vodafone charge 1.99 per day for any data used (up to 100MB) if a data plan is inactive. Once the plan is activated, data is taken from the allowance and not from credit.

Does anyone know if you have to buy add on as soon as offer is shown,
I have 20€ free credit applied and data and text and also have 200 mins from customer care so don’t need calls at the moment.
Do I need to buy add on now to keep the offer?

Yeah have it thanks, so basically one can have 2 months free if not make many calls. That 20€ credit can be used next month to activate offer.

It will show in balance and my top up, add on etc so you can see allowance everywhere. It took exactly 48 hours for me to show after port was completed.
    You will also get text.

As far as I know, you need to actually top up by €20 every month.
It doesn't activate by using the credit in your account.
