Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

England definitely encountered a better Scotland and a better France than Ireland did.

Not at all. Ireland better at pressurising Scotland into making mistakes.

And this France team are down at least 5 first teamers from the initial squad announcement.

Or again, maybe Ireland are just better than England.

1 try for England in the last 180 minutes according to Inverdale. Very stark statistic for them.

They've already missed an opportunity at a Grand Slam, only the championship left.

If England don't get 5 points today, odds on Eddie Jones throwing the toys out and fielding a weakened team next week?

Apologies I meant championship. EJ would be under severe pressure next week not to lose 3 on the bounce should They lose today

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,854 ✭✭✭✭Beechwoodspark

Not a chance - its payback time for them after Ireland denied England the slam last year, England will want to do that for Ireland

Let them at it. In joe we trust

Same issues that haunted England against Scotland are present here again - not cleaning out the ruck properly, not getting go forward ball over the gain line. France won three penalties for holding on, which was something that Scotland also did well.

I thought Jones might have been braver and drop Ford and put Farrell into 10 as against Scotland I didn't even realise he was playing

I get the feeling France really want this

Leave them win today but not scoring four tries

Hang on, he's not a flanker??

If I took a shot every time the TV3 commentator mentions that England need 4 tries I would be in A&E by now.

Another lucky championship, I don't know how we keep doing it? 3 times in 5 years we've been lucky now. Thank goodness God is smiling down upon us with our terrible team.

England are actually a very overrated team they have no dynamism and are so reliant on Billy V when he is not there they struggle badly

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,243 ✭✭✭C__MC

England havent' lost in twickenham since 2012, will be a massive next week regardless of todays result

Rucks again killing England - not enough bodies in the rucks.

Itoje is having a poor 6N in comparision to last year

Scotland and now France have made a mess of the breakdown for England. Both these sides are good in this area but it's now pretty apparent that it's a genuine weakness of England's and it has been for a number of years.

England giving away hapes of penalties. I'm sure Schmidt will target this weakness for next week.

England should be picking up a yellow card here

Clearly someone bollocked Jaco out of it for that game in Paris two years ago

Itoje could be off for 10 minutes - this is his second high tackle in the game

    Watson. Wrong player.

I know people give out about how shît France are but their defence is top class.

Brian moore in tears on BBC, denying it was a penalty try

Yeah, how does it matter if he was in a position to make the tackle or not?! It's a high tackle when he's about to cross the try line with nobody else to stop him.

Far from it. High tackle around the neck as the players about to cross the try line. That couldn't be any clearer of a yellow card.

Forearm to the face? Not harsh at all, seen red given for that.

Tbf PoC didn't think it was a pen try either.

Cole should have seen yellow too on the ruck just before the kick, completely off his feet killing the ball

Penalty try is the correct call

Penalty try nd yellow card. They have no hope in hell of pulling off a bonus point win.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,543 ✭✭✭dublinman1990

A YC for Watson & Penalty try for France. This 10 minute sin bin for England is going to deservedly f*ck them up.

Was probably the clearest penalty try you could get. He's over at a canter if Watson doesn't go for his face and neck. Thought we'd see red, though probably a yellow was fair.

    Absolutely correct decision.

England's attack has been poor as well, France have a good defensive system, but England are limp in attack, very static, not protecting the ball when going forward, no creativity.

Listening to Shane Byrne co-comentating is like listening to your opinionated and slightly jarred mate in the pub.

Is there anything better than seeing the French team on top and the crowd going nuts
