    Just came across this:

    http://hp.athleticsireland.ie/index.php/coaching/irish-coaching-network#day-one

Never knew this site even existed but there's alot of interesting info in there from some really good coaches and the training of some of the best youth and senior athletes over the last few years and even from farther afield than Ireland. They are of course only the powerpoint presentations of the larger discussion that went on at the seminars but interesting none the less with a lot of info.

I know the events are usually posted on AI but I know a lot of people don't follow Athletics Ireland website with huge regularity so maybe there's a place here for highlighting upcoming events and dates for any coaches, people who might want to get into coaching or people who just have an interest in training or specific topics. Don't know if it will be a runner but some of these presentations look really insightful and may interest people outside of keen followers of the AI site.

Athletics Ireland is excited to announce UK athlete Bobby Clay as the star attraction for the Endurance Coaches Network (ECN) 6 event taking place on Saturday 21st April at Athlone IT. Bobby is a former European Junior 1500m champion and has really helped create awareness around the issue of RED-s (Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport). She will tell of her experience with RED-s in an interactive Q&A session at ECN 6, it promises to be a session not to be missed for all athletes/parents/coaches. Bobby will be joined by guest speakers Sharan Madigan Head of Performance Nutrition Sport Ireland Institute, Sarah Jane McDonnell Head of Rehabilitation Sport Ireland Institute and David Harmer National Performance Institute Endurance Coach British Athletics.

The theme for ECN 6 is “Keeping Athletes Healthy & Injury Free” and the registration link is now open for the event see below, with timetable and speaker bio’s attached. This event is open to all event group athletes, coaches & parents as it is applicable to all and not just endurance people. Athletics Ireland encourages all coaches & parents from sprints, jumps, throws and endurance to attend. There are only 150 places available and it’s expected to sell out fast. Once full there will be a waiting list in operation.

Steve Macklin coach education lead for endurance said “We are incredibly excited with the line up for ECN 6 which is generic in nature and relevant to athletes, coaches & parents in all event groups. Keeping athletes healthy and injury free is a priority for coaches and extremely difficult to master. The experts speaking at ECN 6 will help share from their experiences working in development & high performance sport. I would encourage every athlete, parent and coach to attend this event and really gain an understanding of what it takes to keep an athlete healthy & injury free.”
