Iphone 6s found (in may 2017, sorry!)

I found an Iphone 6s around the 3rd of May 2017 in the Rockville area of Newtownpark Avenue in Blackrock, Dublin.
The Iphone also had a case and some earphones (Apologies, they were taken by a friend)
I took the Iphone home with the intention of researching on how to unlock it, to find a way of contacting the owner (instagram, snapchat etc)
Attempted every way under the sun, but to no avail, so the Iphone has sat in my cupboard, gathering dust.

I first assumed it could belong to a student of the nearby Newpark school and considered going in there to hand it in, but after checking the notifications (in hopes of finding an account name or number) i saw some app notification (possibly taxi or bank) mentioning an account & money, so i guessed it didnt belong to a student.

If anybody knows anyone who lost an Iphone last year PLEASE ask them about it. I know I shouldve left it where I found it, or handed it to the gardaí or something, but I wanted to find a way to unlock it myself to return it.

Yes I know that was stupid of me.

If anyone knows a way i could possibly unlock it, to contact the owner, or the owner's friends, then PLEASE tell me.

If nobody contacts me, ill probably just leave it where i found it, in the hopes of someone else knowing what to do.
