Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Decent spell of possession for Chelsea just there, poor choices twice by Moses. Barca can definitely be got at down the flanks.

He’ll be gone soon enough anyway

Would it be his decision to leave or Chelsea's?
He's gone backwards but it's a struggle to find a keeper who is competent. It's slim pickings for high quality keepers at the moment.

Chelsea playing well...good response after conceding early.

Barcelona don't wear red and blue George.

Chelsea showing, even in this brief spell, that Barca can be got at.

Thought he was going to spill that! Chelsea playing well enough :)

Credit to Chelsea here. Good positive approach.

    Pure class from Dembele.

2-0, Chelsea responded well after conceding that first goal but they are all but out now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,262 ✭✭✭✭GavRedKing

    Thats that anyway. :o

  • Registered Users Posts: 678 ✭✭✭beya2009

Good lord their lethal. I was gonna say Barca just enjoying meaningless possession just taking a stroll and just like that they punish you.

Well that's it any Netflix recommendations?

Great Barca goal and some finish.

Messi's natural dribbling goes unnoticed sometimes. It's that good.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,150 ✭✭✭✭LuckyGent88

And that’s that. Lovely pass from Messi and a cracking finish

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,358 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

Cesc has gone off a cliff.

Man City and Liverpool are going to be the only two PL sides in the last eight.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,315 ✭✭✭Sam Hain

Fabregas losing it again. Just can't be doing that against a side this like this. Clinical attack and finish.

Chelsea trying there best to make Celtic look like a competitive European team, this could end badly

Took him long enough to start jogging back after giving it away too.

    Seven seconds, fantastic cop drama

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,358 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

Barca didn't have to do a lot for either goal. Clinical, yes. But not great.

Courtois can't be letting the first in.
And Cesc was appalling to leave his defence utterly exposed for the second.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,635 ✭✭✭theoneeyedman

Poor defense, azpelequqta should have taken a yellow and stopped Messi in his tracks. Chelsea struggling, cesc especially with the pace of the game

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,262 ✭✭✭✭GavRedKing

Was going to try and make it home for the 2nd half but from what I've seen online, f**k that. :pac:

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,594 ✭✭✭kingshankly

    George hadn’t a clue coutinho was cuptied😂

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,358 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

Looking at that 2nd again, Courtois is poor once more.

Bit damning for premier league this, two sides left. Admittedly the ones with the most dynamic attack which may be pertinent. Or maybe it was just the luck of the draw eh? ;)

They'll be showing highlights of the Man U - Sevilla afterwards so make sure to switch back later.

Setting the alarm for Dunphy on RTE and Keane on ITV :)

See the thing is that Cesc is not suited to a game like this, he was never a defensive midfielder in his life and when you are playing a team that is going to dominate possession then Cesc can't play in midfield. You need two midfielders behind him to get the best out of him.

So while you can blame him for the second goal it's really the manager's fault for putting him in that position.

Suarez could push over an old lady with a Zimmer frame in the street and still claim she tripped him.

George Hamilton on RTE; "Reasons to be cheerful for Chelsea. Well; score twice and don't let Barcelona score again, and you're through". Cutting edge commentary there from George.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,985 ✭✭✭Essien

If you're going to be 2 goals down, it might as well be in the first 20 minutes.

That way there's still enough time left to be 5 goals down.

It'll be one of the great comebacks of the CL if they manage that.

2nd best come back of all time, after Barca dumping PSG out last year.

Ref doing well, Barca trying to officiate the game

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,132 ✭✭✭tombliboo83

    The Barca histrionics are insufferable.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,315 ✭✭✭Sam Hain

Barca are an awful shower of whingers. Going down at the slightest contact and then surrounding the ref wailing like sirens. The ref has to cop on.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,926 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

Braca player throws elbow and then goes down like he was shot.

That is the one of the reason people hate them.

Slightest touch and they are down also.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,358 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

Giroud is showing in this game why he's never been elite.

Has destroyed good work by Willian and Hazard on multiple occasions now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,985 ✭✭✭Essien

It's frustrating to be 2 down having not actually been playing that bad.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,315 ✭✭✭Sam Hain

come on, one before half time.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,358 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

How do Barca get away with surrounding the ref in packs constantly?
