Sad to hear of the death of Planxty piper Liam O'Flynn, he was 72 years old and the first of the group Planxty to pass on. I had the pleasure of catching him live 3 times, first time in the late nineties at the Warwick Hotel in Salthill with Arty McGlynn and Dennis Martin, then with Planxty in 2004 at the Radisson Hotel…

Sad to hear of the death of Planxty piper Liam O'Flynn, he was 72 years old and the first of the group Planxty to pass on. I had the pleasure of catching him live 3 times, first time in the late nineties at the Warwick Hotel in Salthill with Arty McGlynn and Dennis Martin, then with Planxty in 2004 at the Radisson Hotel and finally with LAPD (Liam, Andy Irvine, Paddy Glackin and Donal Lunny at Electric Picnic I think in 2014).
