    Hi,

Has anyone managed to connect to the new Saorview Connect service from a Linux receiver? I'm using a vu+ Solo4k (incl. DVB-T/T2 tuners) with OpenVix, so all(?) connectivity requirements are met (Saorview through aerial + broadband connectivity)... except maybe a new module/plugin?

Only other restriction could be if RTE hardwired some info to prevent connection from clients running on non-"approved" boxes.

    Many thanks,
    Mr_D

All Saorview Connect does is add a "shiny new interface" for the RTE and TG4 players (not TV3 as yet).
Ideally, getting the players to work on a browser on the vu+ would get the same thing.

Saorview connect is just the EPG with embedded links to the online content. Don't know if anyone has managed to parse those links yet.

Not sure if that's what you were asking but that's my understanding of what Saorview connect is.

Yes, thank you. In which case it is just a matter of getting a plugin to manage the streaming from the RTE player.

    Similar info here

Not sure it's as easy as one would like.

RTE player app on a smart TV should work but obviously only on that TV
