UCC Staff Athletic Club will hold our Annual Road Race for the 36th successive year on Sunday, 8th April 2018 starting at 10.30am sharp. The race is now known as the UCC 10Km Carmel Lynch Memorial, in tribute to our former club member, Carmel Lynch, who sadly passed away a number of years ago.

The race will be held over a 10 Km distance on the Lee Road/Straight Road circuit.

The event is run under the rules of the Business Houses Athletic Association and is open to all firms and businesses registered with the BHAA. Non members/runners are also welcome to complete in the event. Last year we had 500 runners participate in the event.

Last entries @ 9.40am. Please note that registration, changing, toilet facilitates, refreshments & prize-giving from our kind sponsors will be available and take place in the Western Gateway Building on Western Road, University College Cork. See building location in the following link.

Start line on Mardyke Walk and finish line on the Lee Fields near the Kingsley Hotel on Carrigrohane Road.

Race day parking can be secured in the following campus car parks.
    - Western Gateway Buildings on Western Road
    - Goal Cross Visitors Car Park
    - Aras Na Laoi Car Park

    See below maps for clarity.

I'll be there again this year and I'm looking forward to it. A great race that always gets a good turnout, well marshalled and a great spread afterwards too. Is there any chance you could arrange for the wind to be blowing down the straight road towards town? That'd be great thanks :)

I'm sure someone in UCC must be working on the weather control machine, will see what I can do! In the meantime for anyone who hasn't been in the race before, here's an exhaustive series of photos of the course.

Well looks like the weather manipulation worked a treat as we got the monsoon out of the way last night! All good for Sunday now :)

Looks like a decent turnout, particularly considering the bad weather over the weekend

Had almost perfect weather for this & hence close to 500 took part. Results are on the Cork BHAA page.
