Do tenants need to provide PPS number?

Hi all. Looking through daft and spotted this in the property description : "Once an offer has been approved we will require 6 weeks as a security deposits and one months rent in advance, copy of your ID/PPS to register the tenancy with the RTB" In all my years of renting i have never once been asked to provide my PPS…

In all my years of renting i have never once been asked to provide my PPS number to a LL, is this a new thing? I thought the RTB just needed our names?

Hmmm. Fair enough, myself or my husband have never been asked in nearly 15 years or renting between us, doubt every single tenancy happened to be unregistered!
