Some sh1te here before the kick off. Could RTE not discuss the game instead of us having to listen to this guff?

Cracking championship playoff match. Really enjoyed it.

Didn’t know if I wanted to watch the CL final but I’m in the mood now.

Fulham play some really nice football, young sessegnon looks a superb player. Hooefully he stays with them a few seasons and continues to grow. Excited to see what he can do with the big men.

Feel sorry for villa as i would of like to have seen sam johnstone play and i think bruce is a solid manager

I'm delighted John Terry isn't getting to make the two chelsea fixtures he refuses to play in all about him.

The idea that a senior player, that you are paying a fortune actively does not want your team to be at its best in any fixture is insane.

6 times,la. Better get use to hearing it. The mods will have a tough time on here after the game. Good luck too them.

I was actually going to mention that but soon as i wrote terry, i was nah fcuk it. To be honest, players like grealish and johnstone i woulda liked to have seen next season in a villa shirt.

Villa would be more daft ti agree with a contract like that. Ah no terry you play for us, we dont play for you

Least that's the excuse sorted if they lose anyway.

Ah, that's a shame. From a "enjoying the match" point of view, Salah is a cracking player and it's a worse game now without him.

Plus, it lines up the excuses now too :P

Ah to be fair lads, salah some player and to have had the season he's had building to this game its ****e for a footballer no matter the team.

**** Liverpool but be horrible end to a once in lifetime season for him if he misses world cup.

Mane and Firmino are still huge threats.

Sure, but I'd have had Salah as favourites for the Balon Dor if Pool had won tonight. He's on a different level.

Would be sorry to see him miss the world cup.

Have to love Salah as a player. Seems like a class act off the pitch as well as on. Hopefully he doesn't miss the world cup

Pitty it's half time now game really got going.

Liverpool haven't done a thing since Salah went off. Still stinks of them winning it against the run of play.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,737 ✭✭✭Hococop

Feel sorry for him, had a monster season, not the way you want to end it

I notice Firmino dropping back into his own half looking for ball. Imagine that was Lukaku or whoever?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,022 ✭✭✭✭adox

Very enjoyable first half. That Madrid midfield is class in possession and more or less drew the sting out of sliver pool and their press, although Salah going off had a big impact.

Modric has been outstanding as has Benzema. Madrid probably sorry the halftime whistle came.

I think Madrid will go on and win it in the second half.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,790 ✭✭✭Bret Hart

Liverpool will still win. They'll do it for Salah and all that malarkey.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,022 ✭✭✭✭adox

On the Ramos challenge, yes it was a foul but I didn’t think it was anything particularly malicious and something you don’t see often in the game.

They seem to be up in arms in the match thread but I think Salah was just unfortunate the way he landed.

Plenty of long balls too(in the true sense of the phrase).

any other player done it you'd think nothing, but ramos is a scummer player that injures people more than others

Look I really don’t like Ramos at all and would be the first to point the finger but really, it looked a freak injury to me.

That's grounds for having his contract ripped up in the dressing room at full time if they lose. Incredible mistake.
