I think I've some malware or some sh1te. Keep getting pop ups with random ads at random times.
Anybody else have anything similar or solution?

Not trolling at all, just trying to make ppl aware of Nokia's terrible customer care number,+ to try and get the Nokia plus 7 changed before the warranty runs out,as was done to me ,had loads of the old Nokia's no problems, but this particular model has internationally been highlighted as having severe charge porting problems yet Nokia officially deny it
You're deliberately trolling the many posters who have had the opposite experience to you over many months now. You're a Xiaomi customer now with no reason to be posting on this thread except to continue your petty vendetta. Find something more productive to do with your time.

Not experiencing this personally except for usual in-app interstitial ads etc. You may have installed a dodgy app or clicked a rogue link? Suggest to install an antivirus/malware tool to hopefully clear it up. Suggestions for free versions:

Opened Facebook app and sure enough it diverted to a bad page. Tried to go into the app settings and kept getting app failed. So uninstalled and reinstalled. So far so good.

    Spoke too soon :(

Prettiness trying to steer ppl in the right direction to get a refund/ phone exchange before the warranty runs out? Nothing petty in wasting hard earned money boy as I did

My trusty 7 plus has officially been retired, replaced with a Mi 9T pro.
Gonna hang onto it as a spare/backup.

Wouldn't expect Ireland/Europe to be released before the weekend based on past experience. We may possibly see it Saturday but more likely Monday imo.

The OTA image is available widely on the usual forums so you could update manually if you really want it now.

True - have you tried it? Any issues?

The usual power and volume up finger problem to get it into the boot loader but beside that so far no issue.

The Gestures work fine (feel like Apple), my 5G WiFi is also performing better and Microsoft Launcher still works. Performance is good, little bit faster than under 9.

Also found some funny permission requests from apps with the new permission settings.

Negative, Chrome won't update to the latest version from the google play store, it just hangs on "installing". But I am sure that is just temporary.

Not found anything yet that does not work, but I am tempted over the weekend to factory reset it just to see if I can get it faster.

Cheers! Just completed the update myself and it seems to have gone well! Here's a link to the steps for anyone else interested:
    https://community.phones.nokia.com/discussion/comment/144873/#Comment_144873

    Notes:
    1. BACK UP your apps/settings!!
    2. Works for TA-1046/1055 model#s
    3. Upgrade image downloaded to my internal storage Downloads folder by default. Then when I used the Files app to move to SD card, it created a Downloads subfolder there too and moved the file into it, rather than root. If that happens to you too then for step 8 you can simply select that subfolder to locate the file rather than figure out how to move it to the root folder.
    4. First reboot after update took an uncomfortably long time so don't panic if it appears to hang on the Nokia splash screen for over 2 mins!!

Indeed the my Leap Top-up app was flagged to confirm Permissions to access location, and, make phonecalls of all things!

Chrome updated fine for me - suggest to clear app Cache (not necessarily Data) in Settings/Apps/Chrome/Storage and/or reboot the try again.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,252 ✭✭✭Yggr of Asgard

Funny enough Leap card was also the first app that was flagged for me after the initial reboot.

Otherwise chrome updated within 1 hour of leaving the phone alone.

So far it works all fine , minor issue with Tidal not automatically download playlist updates.

Testarossa40 how is your device since the upgrade?

I feel that my device is too sensitive when it comes to swiping actions.

It's certainly zippier as you said, and I'm still getting used to the new swipe gesture controls. The only related negative so far for me is that a few times today while typing in WhatsApp or Notes etc, the (Gboard) keyboard suddenly disappeared mid-typing as if I'd tapped outside of the text box - I'm wondering if the screen's misinterpreting a slight swipe or over-reacting to the heat off my hovering fingertips or something :pac:. Think I read somebody mention on the Nokia Community thread that I linked that their screen's more sensitive/less laggy post-upgrade. I might switch back to 3-button control if it persists and see if that resolves...

I just did a factory reset and it feels like a completely new experience.

It's fast, scrolling is now smoother and not as touchy as after the upgrade.

Download the update file and renamed it to “B2N-410C-0-00WW-B03-update.zip”

Not an issue for me but Pixel users that had the same issue reported they could restore it after using Nova Launcher or another app that can access the System UI Tuner (search 'System UI Tuner' in Playstore) to toggle status bar clock settings and jog it back on. Maybe try a factory reset first though?

No need to rename the file if installing from SD (I didn't) - only if sideloading via ADP ;)

Did a factory reset and updated all my apps etc. Fully charged but notice the battery not holding the charge as it was before the update to 10.

Had since gotten into Nokia about the charge port not working. They've sent me a label. Gonna drop the phone off and send it away with DHL. Hopefully they sort it.

Anyone on Three got the OTA Update yet?

I would have expected it some time this past week TBH

Has anybody how has upgraded to Android 10 noticed an improvement in quick charge speed?

While I have not yet measured it, my feeling is that the charge up to 80% significantly improved and even after 80% the time to full is greatly reduced.

OTA update seems to have only hit Europe over the past 2 days. Really poor EU rollout lag times even by the usual tardy Nokia standards... Glad I sideloaded when I did!

Fast Charge times seem improved for me also, but is anyone else experiencing issues with Fingerprint Unlock? I find now I usually need 2 goes before it unlocks -first attempt causes the phone to vibrate but no login failure message; 2nd go then succeeds as normal...

Otherwise everything pretty much hunky dory!

Nice to have gestures built in to Android now. Used them before in MIUI, very handy feature.

Screen comes on when you move phone now instead of just showing time.

Have it downloaded but the ever growing number of bugs listed here have me wondering whether to allow it to install it or not.
I wonder is it as bad as they say. A few on there reckon a factory reset clears up a good share of the issues.

I'm having issues with the screen freezing. I have to lock the phone and open it with finger print.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,252 ✭✭✭Yggr of Asgard

I did a factory reset because it was a good excuse to get rid of old apps and data.

So far I only have noticed improvements from better fast charge and longer battery life to a general quicker system.

Only issue is that the keyboard was too inaccurate so I swapped to SwiftKey and now I am good.

I think it comes down to your usage of the device.
