Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hi, OH is thinking of getting some work done in/outside her house. Tiling & new shower in bathroom; and some outside work done, Tarmac/Concrete around the house - some fencing around the garden etc.

Would you go for specialists i.e. Tiler, Plumber etc for each job / or handyman to do all?

And who would you recommend in Convoy/Letterkenny area?

    Cheers

For the tarmacing/ concrete work I'd defo get a specialist. It'll cost more but longer. Look up Sp-Asphalt & Tarmacadam, they are pricey but do great work.

If your going for an electric shower, I'd go with a registered tradesman, or you could end up invalidating insurance etc if anything went wrong, or at least based on the house insurance policy I have.

If it's a new electric shower from scratch she'll need an electrician for starters.

The way id go about this would be to bring in a reputable tiler and plumber to sort out the bathroom get them to recommend an electrician if any electrical work is required, get a reputable tarmac contractor to do the street and finally bring in a handyman to do fencing someone you know does a good job and is easily paid. I certainly wouldn't get the same person to do tiling plumbing and tarmacing, jack of all trades master of none comes to mind

    +1 on this.

    Get reputable individual trades involved.

If you want a couple of recommendations for tarmac contractors let me know

Well herself has been contacting different 'contractors' to do the various jobs, and has had the grand total of ZERO call to give a quote :eek Many have promised to call to see what has to be done, but none seem to be able to find the house...

She has decided to go with concrete around the house, so if someone could recommend a person / company that is good I'd be grateful as she is now talking to a handyman who reckons he can do all the jobs.
