My husband has an apartment in Dublin that has been rented out for 7 years and is covering the mortgage. We have two kids and are now applying for a mortgage but struggling to get anything decent. We have decent salaries and a big chunk of savings but this apartment it lowering the mortgage on offer by nearly €100k. Any suggestions on what we can do. Not in a position to sell apartment

Why can't you sell the apartment?

Selling is not an option as he owns it with his sister and she doesn't to sell at a loss . It still in slight negative equity.
