Just got an email to say that the World Cup 2018 Online Sticker Album is live

Stickers on amazon gone from 50p a pack to 80p a pack. The box of 100 packs has gone up £30.

Filling this year's Panini World Cup sticker book costs £773.60, twice the cost for Euro 2016, according to maths expert Prof Paul Harper.

The pages contain 32 squads of players, plus managers, stadiums and World Cup legends, totalling 682 stickers.

A pack of five stickers has risen from 50p to 80p - a 60% increase.

If you buy 137 packets and never get the same sticker twice, it will cost £109.60, but this is "extremely unlikely", says the professor.

Prof Harper, from Cardiff University's School of Mathematics, worked out a formula to include the least probable number of duplicate stickers.

In the end, he demonstrated that on average you would need to buy 4,832 stickers - or 967 packets - to complete the Italian-made book.
Sticking point

One cost-saving measure is swapping stickers between friends, but even with that tactic, filling the album would be expensive.

With 10 friends swapping, it could still cost them an average of £247 each to complete the album, according to the professor's calculations.

Morocco are the team im closest to filling, think I only need 4 stickers to fill.

The weekly challenge this week has killed me!

I have the album 99% complete and only need 3 stickers all from the weekly challenge so they are like gold dust!

Think the swaps are done through some sort of matching exercise. If you offer up say Neymar and want Ronaldo and someone else offers up Ronaldo but wants Neymar the system matches you off and the swap happens. How it prioritises one person over another if multiple people have the same offers/requests up I've no idea!

I'm sure my swap requests for the 3 lads I'd never heard of before will go through eventually!

I also completed this weeks challenge, getting the 5 youngest players in the book, I had 4 already and had to swap for the last guy, luckily I had a swap for Tielsman, who was one of the others in the list.

The swapping is so cumbersome! Surely they can come up with an easier way to do team swaps?

Ya, its a bit of a chore. In saying that, I'm still managing to get 3-5 swaps a day done for the last week.

I've even managed to fill the entire first page, Panini sticker, WC trophy/Ball, Mascot and puzzle through swaps which I assumed would have been more difficult.
