Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Cat! While I was asleep he decamped from my bed to the stack of NEWLY KNITTED LEGWARMERS! The sheer wonderful cheek of it! And no I have left him there - for now!

Also CAT! New lad keeps bringing me live birds.. Well not sure if he brings them for me but always insists on coming in the house with them... .Y'day another and it was clearly unhurt so I took it outside to release and away it flew... Tiny wrens ... He is a vivid black and white so they must be blind.

Small happies at my lovely friends .

Latin declensions do not make me happy :)

Nominative, vocative, accusative, genitive, dative, ablative. I can never forget. Tattooed on my eyelids at this stage.

    Quick story.
I had a vicious and sadistic Latin teacher...he broke 1 kids arm in 2 places..and then decided I was fair game...I left school in Dec and didn't return until the following Nov...11 months on the hop (school record still )
Went back with the provisio that he was not to teach or contact me...and the school said yes..

In my later teens and 20's I worked part time with my neighbor who did monuments...we were working on a new grave and who's did in spot right beside me?!!
Didn't have far to go that day when I needed a piss

Are they the Latin 7 Dwarfs?

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,089 ✭✭✭Lavinia

    haha seems so
nominative (Who is it? / What is it?)
genitive (whom or what does it concern?)
dative (to whom or to what - do you give?)
accusative (whom or what - do you see?)
vocative (used for calling people, objects)
    instrumental (with who, with what)
locative (where, about whom, about what?)

does this make me happy? well i have to admit i forgot loads of grammar so nice to remind me of some things :)
(guess then it qualifies for the topic :D)

I don’t feel too sad about moving back home (yet). Not sure if it just hasn’t sunk in yet that I’m here for the next year or if it has and I’m okay with it. Either way, I feel fine right now and I’m happy about it

(Re)discovered hair straighteners and realised that they’ve been what my hair has needed all along, despite having naturally straight hair. It’s so smooth!

Also got a new hair dryer that dries my hair so much quicker :)

My neighbour dropped in a box of sweeties for no reason. "Whenever I see gluten free I think of you". So thoughtful, but the bum reduction resolution will have to wait until I finish the box.

The sort of programme that the BBC does so well. RTE would probably put Brendan O'Carroll in the title role!

After weeks of seriously struggling with insomnia and taking sleeping tablets etc to deal with it, one day at home in the parents, safe in the knowledge that I don't have to go to work until Monday and I just woke up after a good 10 hours solid sleep.

Not trivial really, I needed that more than anything. But it's amazing how at 33 my mam and dad still give me that extra little bit of security it takes to relax enough to sleep.

That's a massive relief. My parents divorced years ago and I've had no stable address for years. Sleep needless to say eludes me, or at least restful sleep. I'm really glad that you are feeling all the better for it. Makes the world of difference.

There might be snow in about ten days. It’s a big ‘might’ but enough to get me excited.
