It's amazing that simple sunshine can make everything better! Off to play football with the little fella and then we'll head to the park for a walk and maybe ice cream.

Between the Sun and the wind, today is a great day for catching up on a laundry backlog. I prefer to dry outside, since the tumble dryer uses a lot of energy. I did two loads this morning, and they're both dry already. So I think I can do another now. :)

I rode a horse today. It doesn't sound like much but after a serious fall that ended in a smashed pelvis a few years ago its a huge step for me.

My sister in laws horse was so good as well, he was so gentle and calm. I'm delighted, I'll be back up on my mare in no time hopefully.

I'm on cloud nine tonight. :)

The child-like joy of freewheeling down a long hill on a bike, the breeze in your face and the sun on your back and not a car in sight. Bonus TH points if - as in my case - you have a beautiful vista of hills and sea spread below you. Pure freedom.

Now I'm really not religious, but I'm sitting here almost in tears over something that I really needed to see at the end of a really tough day and week, emotionally and professionally.

Work is really hard at the moment and life is really hard at the moment. I'm confused, hurt, disappointed, dejected and a little bit disenfranchised for a whole host of reasons.

And then I logged into my online banking to do some general housekeeping, pay a few bills, and noticed that my bank balance is insane. I got paid twice the commission I thought I would this quarter, way earlier than I expected, and just in time to make a few things a lot less stressful.

I know it's just money, and fundamentally doesn't change anything. But tonight it's more than that. It's a light on a dark day. And a sign that things will always be grand in the end.

Anyway. Sorry for the poetic nonsense. I really needed something good to happen today.

Dogs are great you can leave the house for 5 mins or 5 hours and get the same reaction when you arrive back.

Hearing my kids laugh and also getting greeted by my dog.
