Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

As I was driving in to work this morning (I usually go by train), outside the Frascati shopping centre in Blackrock a car pulled out in front of me, to avoid an obstruction in his lane. I beeped a warning that I was in his blind spot and as I overtook him a few yards down the road he gave an apologetic wave, which I thought was nice, as many people just give you abuse now even when they're clearly in the wrong. I gave him a "no harm done" wave back but I don't know if he saw it.

Further on, approaching the Merrion Gates, a cyclist in the far left lane signaled that he wanted to move out so the could turn at the crossing. I hung back to give him room to do so and he gave me a thumbs up over his shoulder, which was nice. It makes up for all the times you let people out and they can't be bothered even acknowledging it.

I love it if when I have pulled over to let cars and lorries pass, they signal a thank you ...cars seldom do but lorries tend to.. and I always signal thanks or wave if anyone helps me eg crossing the road

BIG GRIN here! My relationship with ESB after the 5 months without power debacle which only a threat of legal action sorted, and with Electric Ireland who have kept sending me the wrong bills for horrendous amounts, is not an easy one.

I use very little electricity hence gas cooker etc..

And was in credit with my former address account.

So last week I got a bill well into 3 figures.... estimated and when I read the meter it was 3 times what I had used... Corrected it online and waited for the right bill

Yepl they resent the big one in rather stern language.. So i went online and to the chat facility and today the corrected tiny bill came... I had already paid a sum online anyways

It never used to be like this...

But very happy it is sorted ..worries else

    Tax is 550 less.
    Mpg is near double.
Shoulda changed cars ages ago but very happy with the savings.

When I spot a biker in my rearview mirror and pull over to let them pass and they drop the hand, lol:). It makes me all fuzzy inside. I love bikers, sigh... ..

Needed to get new shoes for work (my €5 Penneys ones were doing my back no favours!), and I was looking at a pair of Sketchers last week for €68, but said I'd hold off a while. Happened to be in Sports Direct today and saw a pair of Nikes that were actually nicer, and only cost €40! And they're so comfy :D

Had a proper full on tears streaming down my face laugh at work today. First time it's happened in six months there, and it was brilliant. Sometimes just having a good laugh with a colleague over something ridiculous is all it needs to make a work day better.

Funding application done and submitted an hour before the deadline. An improvement on the usual 10 minutes before!
Now to sleep for a hundred years then reacquaint myself with friends and family as I’ve been MIA the last 2 weeks and weekends.

One of my best friends is going through an awfully hard time at the minute but she's learning how to drive. I'm just so proud of her. Her determination makes me happy.

I'm getting my nails done soon and they always make me happy when they're done nicely.

A little girl in my class opened her lunchbox by herself today! All year she's tried and I've ended up doing it for her but today she got it. We all cheered and I gave her a little treat for doing it. It's very trivial I know but I'm delighted!

Ah, that's just lovely:). Think someone must be cutting onions !

I have a favourite place to walk that I will never tire of and today I saw someone on a jet ski in the bay. Not something that I would ever do, too chicken, hate water. But I bet they were enjoying it :)

    That's a class tune.

Funny enough I once had two WowBurger meals in one sitting, albeit they were a few hours apart, in the Wicklow Street one.

Ending up making me fairly cantankerous for the comedy show I was going to after, but thinking back that was probably actually the whiskey.

You sound like such a lovely teacher, I wish I had one like you when I was in primary school, all we had we grumpy auld ones who were very sarcastic and were quick to make fun of us/me if we didn't understand the problem or the question and had an auld wan in 2nd class that use to hit us with a 100m ruler  and the stupid principal knew what was going on and never did anything about it

I had the same teacher for baby/senior/1st class and she reminds me of Katw4. I don’t remember her being cross in my entire three years and the first thing I remember when I think of her is how she used to try hold all of our hands on the school tour :D we went to mosney one year, and she held two kids hands and each kid held another kids hand so there she was in the middle with about 8 kids all hanging off her, fighting with each other to be the one who held the teachers hand and not another kids hand. She was so nice. I always thought she was really old but she would only probably be in her 70s now.

    That’s a happy memory.

Sorry Seph, can't bring myself to thank a soccer related post... :P

TH at such a productive few days ! I made curtains for our campervan, blimey it was a long job, but so rewarding to have lovely curtains up (there was none when we bought it).

I got the fabric really cheap in Cork, but it was fraying so much I had to basically hem everything twice, once just to stop the fraying, second time was the design.

    I love making things myself.

edit : also, a little happiness that doesn't happen too often : our friends from Newfoundland were over recently, and they brought my favourite Jigs'n'Reels chocolates. It's from a crowd called The Newfoundland Chocolate Company, and they make real tasty chocolate like in the old times, that is, chocolate that really tastes of cocoa and not a fat overload.

The names are fun too ! Tonight I'm having "Any mummers allowed in ?" and "Rattlin' bog" (with Macadamia nut, cashew nut... yum !).
