Judging by some of the comments here, it would seem that people just cannot tolerate being discommoded in any way, no matter what the objective is.

In this case it’s to make Church Street a more attractive pedestrian friendly shopping area that will enhance the shopping environment for everyone. To make the place beautiful and the envy of most other towns in the Midlands.

Why can’t people see the positives in this? Instead we get constant stream of moaning about how long it takes to drive to GI

    eggs and omelets guys

Agree, it will be great once it's completed.

Looking forward to seeing a rejuvenated Church Street. Now if they could do the same for other select streets around the town, such as Connaught Street. The Texas Centre could also do with some form of development.

Seemingly there's a Heatons/Sports Direct going into Texas Centre

Well it's about time something was done with the place. It was unfortunate to see it sitting idle for so long, like many other retail units around town. If they dropped the rent and council rates for a while, they might attract a few businesses or entice a few people to set up a business in the first place.

With that being said, I'm currently working from home. The company I work for is currently a 2 man operation generating a revenue, but can't afford the cost of rent prices yet, until investment is received.
