Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hi, I was wondering if anyone would have a recommendation on the best machine for me to get? I really just like making americanos or espressos, with hot/warm milk. I've used Nespresso in the past, but there's a lot more choice now.

    Any advice is appreciated :)

    Totally depends on price expectations.

I have a Rancilio Silvia and think it's awesome. Needs a bit of learning though.

Another happy Rancilio Silvia owner here. I have had it close to 9 years now. Easy to service and repair (having said that, it's pretty robust).

I’ve got PID for my Silvia while ago , happy out , not sure if I need any better machine.

Is a pid worth it? I have my Silvia 13 years. Still running perfectly. It’s probably too old to add a pid but I was wondering if it is a big improvement

Do you temperature surf? This is what I do but, a PID would make more accurate I suppose.

    I’ve got one of those
    https://mecoffee.nl/mecoffee/
It is not just PID, it is taking control over the pump, 3way valve , on/off timer.
You can do preInfusion , you can dim the pump at the start for the few seconds etc.
But honestly, temperature control it is all you need,
I couldn’t see if preInfusion/pump dimming makes any difference to channeling.

I have one of these too for my V3, I find most useful for temp control as I could never get temp surfing right. Took a little bit of time to install, but enjoyed the tinkering.
