We had one come down the chimney into the sitting room as a kid. Scarey as heck but thankfully it just vanished. Was small but terrified the hell out of us at the time.

I thought it was a bird or bat or something that got caught on fire, see the smoke coming off it

Anybody having issues with lightning maps.org working? Can’t get it to load on my iPhone.

Am in Delvin and looking out at clear skies except looking towards the south east and the clouds look amazing for thunder

    Try Blitzortung.org

This is crazy. Where are you?

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,165 ✭✭✭pad199207

    Crazy forks near Naas

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,524 ✭✭✭SeaBreezes

Lightning to the south has an orange ting now but not as frequent.

There were a couple of storms most white lightening but one really intense with orange fork lightening. Totally changed the colour of the sky, very distinct compared to the 'white' lightening.

Did a little googling, having 'small cow far away cow' father ted moment. Apparently 'orange' lightening is distant lightening filtered by particles in the air..

From my vantage point not far from Enfield, the south Dublin and North Wicklow towers going up look fantastic.
