Easter Sunday dinner with the in laws has ended my Sunday plans of watching this.

I'll record and watch the last 2 hrs later on while trying to avoid the result.

Almost exactly the same here; stupid relatives! :(

Do these people not own televisions?

Now that would be plain rude tbh.

    To not own a television?

They do, but for some inexplicable reason they have no interest in watching fit young men in lycra, with unpronounceable names, bicycling around equally unpronounceable places for 5 or 6 hours. Some people, eh?

They also have no interest in watching 30 or so equally fit, but much larger, young men in lycra batter each other around Landsdowne Road either. :(

I'm reliably instructed informed that there will be 'conversation' and 'social interaction' involved too, for feck's sake!

Speaking of televisions... I need more.

Flanders, rugby and GAA will all overlap today. What's a person to do?

Social interaction during important races for some festival celebrating the torture and murder of a nice guy who just wanted everyone to get along? The world is gone nuts!

I'd say Valverde is happy that he decided not to race today given how brutal the weather is

Just checking in on the womens race on the player it's dry and the sun is breaking through, they are 35km from the finish.

Sean Kelly just said 'it's a wearing down process'. Doesn't he mean 'it's a waitin' game'.

Women's race is looking good. 21km left Anna Van Der Breggen doing a one woman TT
Chasing bunch 49" back with at least two former WC in it.

Van Der Breggen is not a woman you want 59 second up the road from you. Quality bike rider.

EDIT: The chase isn't pulling her back , gap is out to 1'05

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,098 ✭✭✭NamelessPhil

If the chasing group work they'll get her back but they keep splintering. There are some very strong riders chasing.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,098 ✭✭✭NamelessPhil

Disc brakes on Van Der Breggen's gold and black Specialized. #want

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,098 ✭✭✭NamelessPhil

    11km 1'12"

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,098 ✭✭✭NamelessPhil

6.6km 1'28" chasing group containing Van Vleuten has given up. They're just riding for placings.

I'm a fan of Niewiadoma, looks she want's to chase but the others not helping her as much as she'd like.

Van Der Breggen's face as usual showing no sign of effort.

    Matt Stephens is great.
He can be either the main commentator (i.e. Kirby role) or be the analyst (i.e. Kelly role).

Kirby talking about quality of women's cycling but yet again ES don't give it the respect it deserves by having commentary on it.

    That'll be the motor effect!

AVdB is so smooth on the bike. Watching her over the past 30km she has never looked to be riding at more then 7/10 - I'm sure she is, but she is smoothness personified. Always a worthy winner - no doubting the result now.

Anna Van Der Breggen's wins. Teammate second in a bunch sprint 1'23" down.

Has Naesen got back on or is he still off the back somewhere?

That kit kristoff is in is awful

That looks cruel. Don't often see the pros walking. I almost feel guilty watching this as I lie on the couch eating Easter eggs.

    Jaysus, the Koppenberg is cruel...

Nibali still in there! If they have the skillz, a strong GC rider can hang with these lads regardless of their body weight.
