Referee has had a very good game. Noticeable improvement over the Premier League refs. Easy to see why none of them are going to the World Cup.

    None at all
    Jesus thats shocking

It's really not shocking at all tbf based on the last two seasons

The second 45 minutes has been very impressive also, and maybe crucial for next week. Liverpool have defended for pretty much the entire half, and not given up a real chance.

    Boring Jimmy milner second choice.

£75m on VVD has to be amazing value for money for this Liverpool team the Liverpool defence has looked so different since he arrived at the club.

Clattenburg was on the list to go but since he went to the middle east England have no refs on the FIFA list as the refs for the World Cup were already choosen

Well done Liverpool, I hope they go through , I really don't want to see Pep lie down for Barcelona again.

More on the basis of the standing in world football, i agree with it though. Have England one stand out ref

    That was kind of special

Excellent result for Liverpool. Bested City decisively in the first half and saw the game out wisely in the second half. Klopp's stock gone up considerably after that. Pep's stock in contrast has taken a hit. Not sure what his gameplan was and why Gundogan was wide out right. Was it to stop Robertson? If so, it didn't work. Can't see City turning this around now.

Crazy result, wasn't expecting all the goals to go one way.

City, no shots on target, lucky to finish with 11 men, really odd for them.

Liverpool, brilliant all round. May have rode their luck slightly in the second half, but it was calculated and worked well

Would have preferred if that city goal stood to make a game of it 2nd leg. 3/4 of the ties basically over after the first leg again

No problem with the result but we were robbed of an away goal

I don't recall too many who did that. Most City fans would have been wary of the tie, given how the league game at Anfield panned out. Anyone who thought we were a shoo in were very naive. Anyway, all credit to Liverpool on the result. Fully deserved. Can't see any way back for us now. If we could have scraped an away goal, then maybe. Ah well. At least we can field a strong side on saturday evening now, there's no need to spare them for next wednesday.

    :(

The FA put this lot forward as replacement, no wonder FIFA decided they were grand.
The Football Association and referees’ association PGMOL work together to put forward their choices for Fifa’s international list. The final decision is taken by the FA Referees’ Committee and they nominated Martin Atkinson, Stuart Attwell, Robert Madley, Michael Oliver, Craig Pawson, Anthony Taylor and Paul Tierney for 2018

It is only that simple if you have the players to do it though, if most teams try it, they'll be cut to pieces.

Liverpool have the players to do it.

I'm not suggesting that all teams would suddenly be beating City but sitting back against them is the absolute worst tactic to play. It's an almost guaranteed defeat.

Thought he was brilliant today. Maybe not as involved as others but he was constantly shouting and organising the defence. He was great under the high ball too. The defence is full of confidence with him in there. £75m well spent.

I dont buy this nonsense, rattled by a by a few yobs? Youd want to have awfully thin skin, especially some of the players on that field that grew up in very poor areas with a lot of trouble like Jesus, Ederson, Otamendi to namea few..

Something rattled them. They didn't show up.

I think that is happening because the FA had Mark Clattenburg as their Ref and he obviously has since swaned off for a pay packet so hes out. At least that's what I seen some football reporter on twitter saying.

Why else would he swan off? You'd swear the whole lot on the pitch were playing for nothing

If they're City fans, they only succeeded in making themselves look stupid. And if they're not, well; we can't answer for them.

Because Sané was onside I presume he means, which he was. Added to the fact Salah was offside for the first goal.

Jesus RTE, is it the time to have the 'City aren't great' conversation? Maybe after showing some bits from the team that won 3-0 tonight.
