Failing Repeated Final Year Engineering - Options?

    Hi all,

My friend is in a bit of a pickle and I'm gathering all the info I can to help them. So I'm wondering if anyone knows what would happen if someone had repeated final year of an engineering course in DCU and failed again, including their final year project (which can't be repeated during summer). Is it possible to repeat the year again or just some modules or could you walk away with an Ordinary Degree rather than an Honours one?

Any help, even pointing in the right direction of where to ask would be helpful as DCU fob it off as a wait-and-see scenario and I'm looking for piece of mind.
