Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi,

In our main living room we have a Humax HDR-1100S, through which we access Netflix.

Want to get the play room set up so the kids can watch Netflix there too. We have an old Sony (about 8 years old) and looking for easy method for kids to watch Netflix on the tv.

Would a Roku device be easier to manage than an Android box for the kids (11 and 8)? Or something else?

Don't want to use Chromecast as need a mobile/laptop then.

    Thanks,
    Pa.

There is nothing in a cheap Android TV box that would inhibit a kid of that age or younger using it.
You would probably want to lock it down so that they could not install apps which might provide unsuitable content, and uninstall some of the apps already installed.

I don't know for certain if such control is possible ..... but outside of that I see nothing to prevent a kid from using a €40 Android tv box to view Netflix.

any cheap android box with an airmouse will do, just install a parental control app which give the kids an easy big-button interface.

We were wondering the same thing for our young ones and bought a basic device for our kitchen TV off androidboxes.ie so the little ones can have peppa pig and all their other favourites on anytime they like. The customer service was above and beyond since we bought from them ( We bought their T95z model for our main room ) The t95z is absolutely amazing, some excellent apps on it when it got to us which was handy because we were worried we wouldn't know how to set it up!! They even showed us how to install and play free games on it. From all old devices, PS1, PS2, N64 etc.... They can load all those old games on and look so cool like we remember them back in the day as kids, it's so cool!!
