Avantcard loan application denied but they can't tell me why?

Hi there Title says it all really. Applied for an Avantcard loan and got a quick automated email reply saying "Great news! you're approved in principle." I supplied all relevant docs and then get an email saying it's not been approved. I rang them up to ask why and they said they can't tell me specifically why (!) but…

Hi there

Title says it all really.

Applied for an Avantcard loan and got a quick automated email reply saying "Great news! you're approved in principle." I supplied all relevant docs and then get an email saying it's not been approved. I rang them up to ask why and they said they can't tell me specifically why (!) but "just check your ICB record". I got a copy of my Central Credit Register report last week and there are no missed payments on any loans ever.

Is there any requirement or any way to require them to give you in the information as to how they assessed your application i.e. a freedom of information request?
