The very active thread in after hours has been closed because a Mod has decided that there is too much political content in AH.

Why should a Mod decide what content can be discussed? It was a very active thread providing daily updates, option etc.

Do we need to contact the Mods, before we post, to check if they agree with the topic?

I thought that there was a general consensus that Mods wouldn't close threads unless absolutely necessary & certainly not when the thread is so active & covering an ongoing issue that is about far more than politics.

Moving this thread to the Helpdesk as it is about a specific moderation issue, rather than general feedback.

Have you asked the mod why they closed the thread, or used the forum feedback thread to ask why?

I can't see a forum feedback thread. The Mod posted a reason "Closing as too many political threads exist in AH."

Why close a perfectly good & very popular topical thread ? If there are too many political threads then moderate the new ones as they open - don't spoil an existing discussion. It's not even a political thread.

This is exactly what many posters were complaining about in the various feedback threads. It's not just a forum issue, it's a site issue, especially if Mods are going to decide what is discussed or not.

Rather than killing the flow why couldn't they just move the entire discussion. It really gives the impression of censorship.

I’d rather you discuss this topic with the forum mods, or the CMod. Talking to them directly is the best way to understand why they have taken that path.
