I agree completely. I think Stacey will win it. It's not always the best dancer who wins. Ore wasn't a better dancer than Danny but the public love an underdog and someone who actually didn't know how to dance at all.

It would be very funny if Kevin was runner up again though :D

Always a runner up, never a champion!! Gio isn't too far behind him. Joanne sent a message to him on ITT to ask why he didn't win in 2016:)

It's not just me then. He's always doing it.

I assumed Rita Ora couldn't use the strictly pros because of all the styling they needed?

Katya cannot wait to get off the couch on ITT

How has Aljaz never done argentine tango before on strictly?? Did Aby Clancy or Gemma not do it?

The pro dance is recorded a lot earlier in the day or even during the week. Never live like they let on. Even Rita's performance wasn't live, most likely earlier in the day.

yeah I did hear on the podcast that they did the pro dance / opening dance on Sunday after last weeks show. I thought they might have done Ritas then too. Or that they might have done that before Saturday's taping but the make up would take too long.

You could really notice the difference in the staging by not having the regular Neil and the crew

I found that I see very little of both Anton and Neil lately. Always Graziano planted everywhere. I'm not overawed by the pro preformances either.

The pro dance this week wasn't bad but that's about as much as you could say about it. They've been largely forgettable this season.
In my opinion the Irish DWTS pro dances have overshadowed the Strictly ones in terms of technique.

Yeah I didn't mind the last one as much but as you say technique is shown as much. The cameramen go for these long angle shots but we don't get many close up shots especially their feet.

I would love it to go back to the pros dancing the Waltz and Jive and Tango etc in its pure form . So many classics from a few years ago before it changed to the " themed " dances

Here is a pro jive to Rebel Yell . Fabulous !

They're not even doing Latin or Ballroom dances though. It's all showy stuff.
I'm just going to invoke Godwin's Law Strictly Style and mention the pro jive from all those years ago

All wearing proper dance shoes too. None of this dancing in runners or bare feet

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,792 ✭✭✭Postgrad10

There's a lot of dancing in runners this year! I understand Amy sprained her ankle but they are all it. Len would have said something had he been here.

Love Ian Waite. Especially in ballroom. He's so tall.

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,507 ✭✭✭Heroditas

Funny thing is that Ian specialises in Latin. Pity he's still not involved with the show. It's always hard to find d a really tall pro to dance with tall female celebs nowadays.
Aljaz is the only male pro who is usually tall enough, particularly now that Brendan has gone.

Ian went on tour last year with Oti ! Good pairing.

I only got to watch a couple of dances of last Saturday's show. Watching it now. Dr. Ranj was appalling. How did Craig score him higher than Kate????

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,792 ✭✭✭Postgrad10

Yeah it made no sense. Maybe he marked on the entertainment value ? The dancing was terrible. I think his costume was very bulky. What costume designer goes right let's dress him as a bear since he's doing a jive ! :(

I've no interest in Ashley. Don't even watch her dance.
