ICE CREAM PARLOUR PLANNING?

    Hi Folks.

I have a retail unit which used to be a fruit and vegetable shop.
    It's zoned as retail.

Can I start selling ice-cream and sweets from this shop or would that change require a chance in planning permission?

I know for a cafe/restaurant it would need further planning.
Is the ice-cream parlour considered a cafe?

    Would appreciate any insight.

    Thanks
    Alan

It’s best to contact the local council with this query but as long as you are not cooking any food on the premises, then you should get away with it. Also, if you are allowing people to eat on the premises, then you have to provide toilets

Check with the council though before proceeding.
