Hi there - my card was stolen on Saturday & 8 transactions totalling almost 200E were made on my card using contactless within about an hour of it being taken. Is there a way to limit the number of contactless payments allowed? I rarely use it and really have no need for it. I was more than surprised that the thief was so easily able to run from shop to shop spending my money.

    Hi optogirl,

Thanks for posting here on Boards.

We're sorry to hear this. We'd advise if you haven't already reported your card stolen, that you call the Lost and Stolen helpdesk on our Freephone number 1800 946 764 as soon as you can.

We'd also advise that you report this to the Gardaí to investigate further

Please let us know if we can help with anything else.

    Thanks again,

    Jane

Yes I've done both of those things- my question is regarding whether I can put a limit on the number of times contactless can be used in a day/hour etc

It's a pity our banks aren't as good as Revolut where their app notifies you when your card is used and you can instantly block or unblock the card.

    Hi optogirl,

thanks for coming back to us.

You can use your card for transactions up to €30 per transaction. From time to time we will ask you for your PIN for security reasons. Please see here for more information and terms and conditions for contactless transactions.

This cant be limited or tailored in any way, however you can request a card without the contactless feature by sending a message from the service desk on 365 online. An advisor will organise this for you.

Please let us know if we can help with anything else,

    Thanks again,
    Jane.
