Hi everyone I'm just trying to figure out what on average I need to get to get an honours degree or a 2.1.

I have currently done three exams in the January which I got 40,50,68.
I have three exams in the summer and one more module which is 100% CA. The three modules have one 25% CA's and two 30% CA's.

What on average do I need to get for the remaining four modules to get either honours or 2.1?

Last years results 15% is brought forward to this years results which makes this years 85%.
Last year I got a 2.1 result with on average 63.

Let me know if you need anything else. Thanks

Would need to know the weighting’s ie a 5 or 10 credit module.

Also if 15% carried over does that not make this year 85%?

1 Module which is 100% CA is 15 credits.
The other 3 are 7.5 credits.

Does the higher credits have a higher impact on your overall grade because I thought it's just the seven modules added together and divided by 7. Also how is the 15% carried across?

So that brings you up to 37.5 credits? AFAIK
you have to do 60 a year. So did you have 3 other 7.5 credit modules in the first semester too and the 15 credit is year long?

Ok so your 63% from last year gives you 9.45% towards this year.

    Your results so far:
    7.5 credit - 40%
    7.5 credit - 55%
    7.5 credit - 68%

    Meaning you need approx
    7.5 credit - 62%
    7.5 credit - 62%
    7.5 credit - 62%
    15 credit - 65%

This gives you a combined weighted average for both years of 60.43.

Of course if you get 66 in one subject you can get 58 in another and it averages out. However for the 15 credit its easiest to count it twice and then add all subjects and divide by 8 so the weighting is equal.

    Hope this makes sense

So do I need 62% for 2.1? How much do I need for Honours degree?

For a 2.1 your overall average needs to be Over 60%

Assuming you are doing a level 8, that is an honours degree, if you mean to get a 1st class honours then your average needs to be over 70%

Yes I understand that. I just meant on average what do I need to get 1st class honours? Thanks for your help

Also one of my results so far is 7.5 credit - 50 not 55%

So can you recalculate that also please. Thanks

To get a 1st you would need 83% in all 4 subjects

And the 50% for a 2.1 means you need 63% instead of the 62
