I am looking for recommendations for a supplier to install a new system in Dublin 18. Many companies are pushing for a monitored service but we are looking for a solution that includes self monitoring and management via an app. It is a 4-bed semi, and want 3 door sensors and a window sensor for downstairs. Not sure we need sensors to tell us someone is already in the house...

Also which brand should we be aiming for, I read that some have batteries that can only be replaced by installers and others don't. Would prefer if we could replace batteries as needed ourselves.

Most systems would have batteries you can replace yourself.
The external bells (if wireless) are the ones most end users have a problem with.
Our most popular for apps & notifications are GSD & Siemens Vanderbilt as they don't tie you to recurring annual or monthly charges & they don't charge for every app you download.

Ok just be cautious here and bear in mind that if your system is relying solely on your own broadband router for notifying you of activations.
It will not work in the event of a power cut or an issue with your broadband, eventhough your alarm system will continue to function due to battery back up.
