    Hi,

Does your servers/marketing database lose memory every so often that when I have opted out of receiving these unwanted promotional texts (as I am no longer a customer) I get another one when the next promotion is on?

Is there someone I can deal with that my number is removed from your database permanently?

    Hi Danny_B ,

Please feel free to PM me your full name and old account number, I would be happy to look into this for you.

    Thanks

    Hi Thomas,
Sadly I do not remember my old account number. It has been a few years since it was deactivated.

Do you have any details regarding your account with ourselves?

    Thanks

    Hi Thomas,
All I would be able to provide is name, address and phone number.

Although, I may have a sneaking suspicion that my number is used on another active account in my mothers name. I don't know that account number either.

    Hi Thomas,
I have sent you a PM as I have again received another one of these promotional messages. Apparently the OPTOUT option goes unheard.

    Hi Danny_B,

If your number was given by your mother as a contact detail, you will need to get her to call our support team on 1901 to have it removed.

    Thanks

    Hi Thomas,

I received your PM reply but I had difficulty replying to it.
Should the OptOut option not do what it is supposed to do. Otherwise why have it there.
I will get in contact with 1901 to rectify it.

GDPR is your friend here, bypasses Irish law.
The information they have on you is supposed to be treated with respect and must be appropriate.
Eir is like any other business, there is more effort put into telling us how important our custom is than actually providing proper service

    Hi Danny_B ,

The opt-out option should work, there may be an issue and I will have this investigated by our support team.

    Thanks

    Thomas

    Hi Thomas,
Indeed it should, but it failed twice..hence the reason for this thread.
    Thanks for looking into it.

Wait until GDPR is in full force next month and people start seeking compensation for the misuse of their personal data by Eir.
Personally I'm looking forward to seeing it happen!
