On now. Sagan is trying to go one step beyond into more the climbers' & punchy riders' territory.

Starting a thread as much cos I see Eddie Dunbar is currently amongst the break of 9 riders with 7 minutes or so lead. About 200kms to go so it'll presumably be a long day at the head of the race for them lads.

Know nothing about tv coverage & I'm off to the kitchen to eat a fry.

The coverage starts on Eurosport at 1:45. It's great to see Eddie Dunbar Involved in a World tour race.

Hope Dan has a go at it today.

Womens race on the player at 12:30 I think. Van der Breggen has been down but back on her bike and in the bunch.

I thought Aqua Blue got no major race invites this year? This is a major race!

    No Grand Tour invites

Women just took the bell, group of 8 in front with 18km to go and a lead of 1min 37 Chantal Blaak is among them.

EDIT: Blaak takes it convincingly in a two up sprint.

    No Grand Tour invites

Nor classics nor Tour of California ( market )

Sagan and Valverde are 2 possibels for today ( in opposite ways)

But I feel it will be a strong breakaway near the end who will win....well I hope so

Maybe Gilbert or Benoot or Valgren

Fair play to Eddie, in the break in his first world tour race. The kid has no fear.

He looks quite comfortable there!! That was a strange place to stop for the Trek rider. When you gotta go...?

Looking good on the climb there too.

Would a rider stop if he needed to go for a wee or would he just go?

Depends on the part of the race you'll get some who'll pull over and others who'll go whill on the bike, you occasionally get a camera cut back at an inopportune moment to someone with their lad in their hand :p

Feel sorry for the other lads in the break with Eddie, hard man to keep up with...

Just hope he’s not doing too much work on the front of the break

Haven’t heard any mention of Dan Martin

That can be a good thing in races like this, assuming he is still in the peleton.

What brand of bike is Dunbar on?

Race looks beautifully set up now.

He would truly be a Superman if he had anything left when the catch is made at about 20km

Agreed. As yet he's just Eddie Dunbar, not Eddy Merckx.

Hopefully it's sport fishing only and they let him go again.

    Great effort nonetheless.

Might have to expect Eddie Dunbar to be told to go with the breaks whenever there's a chance by the team. Given their lack of tour invites, they need as much air time as possible.
