    Hi,

I'm down in Cork City next Sunday 22nd. I'll be there for approx. 10 hours just off Georges Quay. Will be looking to park up as close as possible for the day, is there anywhere nearby that won't cost an arm and a leg?

    Thanks

Penrose Quay has parking for 8 euro a day. It's about 10 minutes walk to George's Quay.

On street parking is free on Sunday, so Morrison's Island would be your best bet

Dont be paying for parking, on street parking is free on a Sunday, anywhere in the city center will do.

    Is Sunday still free parking?

Do any car parks do free hours or half prices for to promote city centre shopping?

People have been getting parking tickets on Sundays now, for parking on double yellows or parking in stupid places like slap bang in the middle of cycle lanes.

Usually there is no issue with parking in cycle lanes or on pedestrian plazas on a Sunday as there is no parking enforcement. Public realm areas like grand parade and Cornmarket Street become parking lots instead of pedestrian plazas. Although it is not a nice thing to do. However there are parking wardens for the few Sundays before Christmas so just park on a legal street space. Parking is free.

Needless to say, please don't park on cycle lanes or pedestrian spaces. They are there for cyclists and pedestrians, respectively.
