That was a pretty audacious opener from Williams.

It was a good shot but it was also a shot to nothing the way he played it which is even better

I like how he comes up to Davis and Parrot, for the laugh, while standing there waiting to go out. Doesn't take things too seriously, which lightens the air. No harm.

    And another great shot.

Great pot to make up for his miss on the black

Great first frame from Williams despite the missed blacks. I always though in this match if he saves his best till last he has a good chance to win if Barry also gets nervy. I think the way Barry cleaned up the balls there was a bit odd cause it shows his opponent that he's concerned.

Williams got away with missing two bad blacks from the spot to win a good frame.....will need to cut out those careless misses to win

looks like Mark has decided to go for everything. hope it works out.

The line between purposeful aggression and outright recklessness is a fine one. Wasn’t even sure the last red he played was actually on. Probably meant to get white back to safety but still, not going to help his cause with shots like that.

FFS, that's the second time Williams has been spooked by someone in the audience when about to take on a difficult and critical pot😲

Call me cynical, but I don’t think both of them were accidental

    Wayward opener Mark. Too risky.

Looked a possible push shot from Hawkins on that black, need to see it again though.

Finally a break for Willians. Has to clear up now.

Even if he potted that red it sill wouldn’t have been the right shot

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,474 ✭✭✭AllForIt

I can't believe Barry went for that red along the cush. Never fancied him for it, playing with the rest.

Does Ronnie not realise he's talking way more than normal for a snooker commentator? Maybe the Eurosport guys are too in awe of him to tell him less is more...

Twice in the one frame. He missed both times when he resettled. I hate all the shooters. One muppet hasn't listened to the repeated instructions from the referee. He should be yanked if he does it again.
