Best compact camera for travel

Hi,

I am planning a round the world trip and am looking into getting a camera that is compact yet has a good zoom and pixels and something that won't cost me a fortune. Maybe something that has Bluetooth? A DSL is just too bully to be carrying around. I am a bit overwhelmed by all that is out there so if anyone has any ideas they would be greatly appreciated.

decent option that's not too expensive.
Panasonic Lumix TZ90

has wifi to connect to phone, tablet etc or upload straight to social media. cameras don't use bluetooth much as too slow to transfer picture files.
very good zoom and good in decent light. will not be that great in low light but nothing under 500 euro will be (see second more expensive option below which will do good low light)
has some cool features not found on similar cameras

if you want a similar size camera but a bigger better sensor inside so better photos and particularly in low light, with less zoom (but probably still enough for most cases at 10 times) you could look at the

Other then sensor size, does the MK1 RX100 have any advantages over the TZ90 ?

As the MK1 has no WiFi/NFC can I simply take the SD card out and put it into my phone ?

What's people's thoughts on the Canon G9X ?

normally the travel camera segment means 10x+ zoom cameras

the rx100 only has x3 optical zoom. takes good photos due to 1 inch sensor size but would really be considered a travel camera, but a premium compact. although the mk 1 would just be a compact at this stage. the bigger sensor is the advantage over the tz90 - better low-light would be the most noticeable difference. shorter lens lets more light in and sharper also.

g9x seems to be another good premium compact.

if you don't need long zoom a large sensor premium compact is the way to go.

the tz100 is a good middle ground - sort of premium compact sensor-wise with long zoom also.

Was actually speaking to someone today about a travel camera and putting the sensor size aside he recommended the TZ70. Supposed to be still one of the best point and shoots for around the €250 range which is ideally what I'd like to keep my budget at as I'd be afraid if it was stolen or lost etc....
