Greyhound - Black bin: Ceramics?

Hello, I'm trying to figure out how to dispose of broken/old ceramics? We have a few items in the house that I thought I read couldn't be disposed of in a black bin but I decided to check again and can't find any details. The items are some mugs and a casserole dish that is smashed into a few pieces. Any ideas? Thanks!
